Driving from airport

Thank you everyone for your comments...li think on balance as I am arriving at night and never driven before I may take a transfer and hire a car in pp to get used to driving then next year hire from airport!, I think starting my hol stressed out wont be good for me. I will now look at hiring in pp thanks

Have a wonderful Holiday you might want to use resorthoppa for your transfer we use them all the time. Because we leave our car at the house when we go back to UK. Have always found them reliable and great value.

you can rehearse the route on google earth, esp useful for the 'short cut' past the oil terminal to Decathlon/AlCampo junction, although I wouldn't recommend doing that part at night on your first visit

if you stick to the motorway, you'll be OK, just concentrate especially hard for the initial journey, many foreigners are driving around tentatively, the locals are used to them

driving round pp in the daytime is fine, although finding somewhere to park in the old town on (Sunday) market day can be a bit wearing

Many of the villa company's directions to their properties rely on landmarks, which can often be easy to miss even in the daytime. Probably for that reason alone, it may be easier to get a car once you are in the resort.

Driving on the island is easy - There are only two things that I always find with the locals - Lane discipline on the motorway is poor at busy times and they always take the outside lane on roundabouts whichever way they are turning!!
