El Ancla

I have been recommended the entrecote steak at 'El Ancla'. I would be interested to hear the views of anyone who has dined at this restuarant. If so, how highly do you rate the food. I believe it is on the front overlooking the beach which is ideal for the fantastic sunsets.

Hi Miguel and welcome to the Forum.

We have used El Ancla over the years more as a pit stop for a drink, coffee or so while passing that way.

Two years ago as we were resident nearby, we went for dinner. Seated inside and well within the view of waiting staff passing in and out, we must have been invisible to them .

And despite complaining it did little good, and that was after ordering normal popular dishes. It was just so slow!:eek

I'd say by all means try for a drink, or at lunchtime for a snack, and make up your own mind as to whether you'd go in the evening. Certainly very well placed and most particularly if you dont fancy the hike in to town.

If you want to try some great steaks, you must try Nico´s in the square or just before you start the pine walk the is a restaurant also with great steaks, it is called CorMari "something like that" . I went to both a couple fof times and they were great with there fillets and steaks.

Thanks for sharing your experiences of El Ancla. I will certainly try Nico's when I am in PP (probably try them both)

We are rugulars in there most sunday lunctimes when the Jazz is on. Have tried most dishes but usually go for the paella if they have any left. Good local bar/restaurant and well priced.

Okay I give up. Since this thread started I've been trying desperately to remember where this place is. I can see it, but I just can't put it on the map. Somebody help me. :\
