El Posito or El Mojito for dinner?

Seems like a strange reason to go to a restaurant, Jiggggy. If you want to look at people, then why not just have a coffee or a drink and watch the world go by and save a bit of money!

Of course the food is the most important thing, after all, you go to a restaurant primarily to eat. It helps if the service is good and you are in good company - all of which applies to El Posito. Nothing wrong with the location either, as you often find the best (and reasonably priced) restaurants down the back-streets wherever you go. Take Stay, for example. People rave about it here, but I looked at the menu and to be honest found it boring, although the location is absolutely superb. (But that's another debate entirely!)

Ps - Would not have eaten (or even known of it's existence) at El Posito if it were not for the good people here. Hard to find even if you know where it is. Keep up the good work!

I go along with you Paul B El Posito every time as you say best are always up back streets O'Lume was like that but sure it will be fine in its new home.

El Posito every time.

Recall one Sunday lunchtime when a certain lady "pops" in with six of her mates, on a girlie weekend!

And another time having arranged a meet, and sitting at the bar, having arrived first, wondering "is that him"? looking at every new entrant, then lo and behold Snowy finally arrives!

I think the comparison isn’t fair between El Posito and El Mojito because they are different types of restaurants catering to different markets, El Posito is a small place with a limited number of covers where it can pay more attention to detail and the food, El Mojito has a massive turn over of covers per night, probably 4 or 5 times as much, so the attention to detail is probably not as great, although I have found there food to be excellent. In the summer El Mojito has a line of people waiting for a chance to eat there, does the same happen at El Posito?
A better thread would have been El posito or O’Lume, or maybe El Mojito or Tangos, then you are comparing like for like. Its like comparing your small local bistro with 15 covers against somewhere like TGI Fridays, the experience by its very nature will be different at both

SWS, you do make a good point in that the two places are very different but i can assure you El Posito often do have people waiting for a table, at lunchtime and in the evenings. ;)

Thanks for correcting me Sparky, I didn't realise, how many covers does it have by the way?

I think it's between 40 and 50 inside and 12 outside. Of course El Mojito's is mostly outside with fewer inside. :)

Sws, I believe El Mojito have a very small kitchen, which may be a big problem trying to cater for so many? I notice their name appears on the smart newly built restaurant at the front, are they moving or just branching out?

The new place is El Casinet and i am told it's the same owners as El Mojito, Makassar and Jordi's supermarket. :)

El Posito or El Mojito. The comparison was purely because my OH always gets their names confused.

I would not put any place up against El Mojito it would not be fair on El Mojito getting no votes well maybe one.

Tony ex Jordis what must he think ?? The Desi Arnaz of PP what do you think Sparkey

I hope El Casinet operates like it used to i.e. mainly drinks, not food as it is hard these days to find a bar on the front to just have a drink IMO

GG:)

GG, i was told that a lot of VERY expensive state of the art kitchen equipment has been installed, so i don't know how it will operate :)

As long as its better food than Mojito. Liked it when it was the late night drinking bar for the youngsters, and I pretended to qualify!
