Fire?!

My daughter woke me up in a panic last night saying she could smell burning! Leapt out of bed and after checking the apartment we went onto the balcony and there was a thick smog, and the smell overpowering Couldnt work out where it was coming but think the strong wind had probably wafted the smoke a long way. It smelt like a bonfire so maybe from farmland somewhere nearby El Pinaret. Did anyone else smell it or know what it was?

Yes Debz i read that there was a huge fire in Valencia and the strong overnight winds blew the smoke across to Mallorca, i will try to find the story online.

Yes,there was very strong smell here in the Boquer area.

Thanks sparky. It must have been a big fire to drift so far So much for my bonfire theory, although I was right that it was wood burning!

I have a friend living in Chulilla and this is the second time this year the fires have been so close to her. It is not at all nice and quite frightening for all in the area. Those poor people - lets hope they stay safe!
To actually smell in Pollensa shows just how bad the fire is. Fire has a mind of it's own!
