Does anyone know if there are any gym's in PP area that can be used on a pay as you go basis or say a weekly pass & if so how much. I know Duva has one though don't know what the cost is, but don't really know of any others. I hasten to add it's not for me.

Yes there is a gym in Medico Lopez just up from Circulo Cultural but i can't remember the name ;).

I think its Studio 1 or 2 but is opposite the Alan graham Shop and I believe you can get daily passes.

Yes indeed, we have had daily/weekly passes in the past

According to the Studio2 website it's :-

1 DAY PASS (Non Members) €10
3 DAY PASS (Non Members) €25
1 WEEK PASS (Non Members) €50
2 WEEK PASS (Non Members) €65.

I am afraid Studio 2 now closed for good. All equipment gone. Owner the lovely Sarah just couldn't commit to the dreaded rent adjustment. Shame as at its peak it was a fantastic place full of expats, locals, restaurant owners, the ocasional celebrity and the guardia civil! RIP.

Why, why, why do these business owners keep on putting up the rent so much that they force people to close? I never used this gym but passed it daily and it always looked fairly busy, smart and well run.

Yet another boarded up place that should still be trading.

I can only put this down to the greed of certain business people. From my understanding of the locals there ain't many poor business owners! Where will it end?

I agree but it's the property owners Nick not the business people. The gym was doing very well but when the owner of the building increased the rent it meant a huge drop in profits so they decided to shut it down.

It's a crazy situation and it's happening all over the Port :mad:.

Oops, by "business" I meant the owners of the property as in it being their business to rent out, if that makes sense?

Surely it can only be greed?

One word. "GREED"... If any business shows signs of making money the property owners whack up the rent.

Think there may be more to it than just rent increase as it was part of the Barnard Hamilton group and I believe the bank owns most of that now.
