Help needed!

Hi, We have recently bought a lovely villa in Gommar. I need to find someone capable of doing odd jobs for me and perhaps a lick of paint inside and out.

Also during the winter, I may need a little building work done.

Anyone any idea how I can find reliable people? I want people who intend to do the job when they say they will and not start the day i arrive back!!!!!

Any ideas of buying second hand furniture locally?

Any help would be great. I also would like to find someone to look after the villa when I'm not here - is it too much to ask to find good honest reliable help without it costing the earth???? Yes, you have guessed -I have been ripped off!

Hi Eleanor,

I was going to suggest that you look under Puerto Pollensa, Mallorca (Majorca) - Property Services & that Paul of Project does painting (as he has done our apartment a few years ago).

If you are intending to have friends & family stay or even rent it out, I would suggest using a property care company that has a 24 hour call out. You'll also find that you can pay for an annual contract with such a company so that they check your property regularly & can arrange work to be done if necessary.

Having just used Paul for a project on our apartment I can recommend him as being helpful, friendly, punctual and most of all contactable. I would definately use him again for any work that we need doing.
