lollipop, hope you got my pm. Once again thank you for your kind words. It has been a relief for my husband too. Sounded a bit better tonight, had more tablets!!

Thanks again, Janey x

Janey, I am so pleased that the insurance company is now doing what it should for you - but its not right that you should have had to go through so much extra worry and stress before they did. I hope your husband makes a full recovery and now you will be there with him as well. As you say, the forum people have been such a help for you - just shows its not just for restaurant recommendations etc! Hope all goes well for you both from now on.

Love Rosiexxxxxxxxx

Eleanor, its very easy to renew over the phone, you do not need to get another form, the automatic voice just requires you to say "yes" or "no" at the appropriate times. Then you will receive your replacement in the post. Or you can fill a first time form in on line. Simples!

Thanks Bella. Have checked and we have until January - must put on my 'to do' list for next year - NEXT YEAR - what a thought! haven't got around to doing much on my 'to do' list for this year as yet!

Thanks again.

Just to say thank you so much to everyone for advice and kind words. My husband has been told he can fly home, hopefully this week, and be treated at home.

Lollipop, I hope you get my pm, never quite sure if I send these correctly!

Once again, THANKS!

Janey x

Hello there and firstly very sorry to hear of your distress as such an awfal time. Your warning is very good advise - I could tell you many a story of people who forget to mention tablets they are taking - often because they have been taking them so long they do not consider themselves ill- and understandably insurance companies do not cover if a full medical history is not disclosed.
However, Son Dureta do have a number of excellent public relations staff who speak english and they can provide all the info you need from the Drs. as to the condition of your husband and future options. Son Dureta is the best hospital in the Baleares so your husband is in very good hands - the private hospitals are best for convenience not for their standard of treatment.
I would imagine that your insurance company will still assist you as much as possible and to be fair they will have all the contacts needed for arranging flights home and assistance during the flight when you come to that time. However they are likely to want you to pay for the services if they are unwilling to cover his treatment.
I am not sure if you are religious but there is a lovely friendly English vicar in Palma, close to Son Dureta, who visited a client of mine a few years ago when her family had to return to UK. His name is Robert Ellis - 971 737279 and he may be willing to pop along to cheer up your husband.
I imagine that your husband is in Intensive Care if you are unable to stay in the hospital, when he is back on a normal ward, it would normally be possibly for you to stay the night there, all be it in an armchair, but this would keep the costs of you being in Palma down.
Wishing your husband a speedy recovery and I hope you find plenty of assistance.

Hi JMD40, Insurance, so far willing to pay to bring him home with assistance, which would be the best option as I have our 10 year old son to look after. Fortunately, he has had a visit from a lovely lady from ESRA, so that's been reassuring and the consul were very helpful too.

Janey.

jmcg1, yes thank you I did get your pm and have replied to you. Good Luck for this week.

Thank you

Thank you to everyone for kind words and wishes and offers of help. My husband is home and awaiting treatment. Might be a while before we are back in PP, can only hope he makes a speedy recovery!

Kind regards,

Janeyx

Thoughts are with you Janey wishing your husband a full speedy recovery x

Hi Janey. So pleased to hear your husband is on home ground. I hope he makes a full and quick recovery.
Well - you won't forget PP will you?? lol

Hope when he is fit and well you return again to this wonderful place.
Good luck for the future.

Janey, i hope all goes well with his treatment it must be such a relief to have him home. :)

Hi Janey - just spotted the good news! It must be such a relief to have him home and on the road to recovery. You wont forget this holiday will you;) But do hope you will return to PP some time - I was ill during one holiday there and spent the second week in hospital (only released the night before we came back!) and remember thinking at the time that I would never venture abroad again - but then I was not as ill as your husband.

Lots of love
Rosiexxxx
