We have stayed at the hostel Bahia a few times. Its in a fantastic position along the pine walk and if you want to pay extra you can have a room with a sea view. It really is reasonable and I would recommend it.

I must hold my hands up and admit that when I first came to PP (not that long ago I know:lol ) there were a lot of Germans sitting out on the terrace eating and drinking everytime I passed. And yes I thought this was one of those places full of Germans (I have nothing against Germans and have found them just as nice as anyone else)
Since then I've learned from fellow forum members that it's a not too bad place to stay. Yes FD I can imagine to seaview from here would be just as nice as the one I've had from the Sis Pins and i can bet nowhere near as expensive as the Sis Pins!. And thanks to FB I may try the Hostel out for an inexpensive trip.
Anybody know their rates for this year? :lol
Take care.

This is one of my ideal spots to stop early evening for a G&T and watch the world go by.

Had my first stay at the Bahia last month - LOVED IT, so much so, I'm going back in Sept.

Rob here's the link to the site so you can check prices.

I don't think it's worth all the extra dosh for the sea view/balcony as you can always sit out on the terrace & watch the world go by.

Thank you Linzzzz What a nice site.
Thank you FB for starting this post.
And thank you Sandy for giving me a new place to stop and have a little refreshment ;) hic
Take care.

I agree that its not worth paying the extra money to get the sea view, just pointing out that you can.
I love sitting there of an evening with a glass of wine and just admiring the view on the terrace.
I would recommend this place Robjay.

It is lovely just sitting there on the terrace - I didn't get to eat dinner in the restaurant. Did you try it flamenco? Maybe I'll give it a go next time. It certainly seemed popular.

No have only had breakfast there. I prefer to venture out to different restaurants in the evening. Though the food certainly looks good.

I think that the sea view rooms also have air conditioning which in the height of summer could well be worth the extra money. Do not be mislead by the name hostal and that it is only one star - the prices are in line (or even dearer) with many of the 3 star hotels i.e Daina, Capri or Miramar and so that is purely due to the Bahia`s``location location´!!

Actually JMD40, all the rooms have a/c now, even the non-sea view ones.

I nearly booked for here this year, but was put off by the fact there was no air con or balcony. I didn't want to be couped up in a double room without a balcony to sit on. Are there only the sea view ones that actually have a balcony does anyone know?

I beleive thats correct, at quite a higher rate, also. but do bear in mind, you have a lovely terraced area, for drinks and food, which again is lovely... and the beach a stones throw away, well more of a small peddle to be honest...;) , so no need at all to be couped up, just come downstairs ....I have read somewere here, that the other rooms dont justify the price increase, for this reason i think ...but depends were your prorities lie i suppose, i personally wouldnt entertain anywere, that didnt have a balcony and pool, but this place was lovely, the inside was gorgeous also....

hope that helps, know as the Bahia, looked after are apartments, with use of reception area, if necessary.

I think all the rooms have air conditioning now.

My friend stayed in the Bahia last year in a room without a balcony and was quite happy, I think these rooms are all round the back and her room had a nice view of the moutains at the back, I suppose it depends how much time you are likely to spend seating on your balcony as to whether you can do without one. The terrace area is lovely to sit and have your breakfasts, which apparently are very good.
