Is there anywhere in Spain like Puerto Pollensa

I'm not one for repeating myself, but I've said it before and I'll say it again :)

For me it wasn't something you could tangibly touch or explain to anyone.

It was a gut feeling. Even after decades of holidaying there, We (past tense) still got the same nervous excitement every time we turned on to the bay road.

We did a lot of Europe and all of Spain, but at the end of each of those holidays it never bothered us about leaving for home. However every time we left PP we were overcome with this sad feeling. Many times my late wife would shed a tear as we drove out heading for Palma. Like I've said before, you either get it or you don't.

I dare say folk have that feeling about other places. If you do you are indeed fortunate because you sure as hell can't buy it no matter how much money you have.

Thanks Pollensafan, sums it all up for most of us I think.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Unfortunately, due to ill health (mine) we've not been able to visit since my 60th, three years ago. Can't explain how much we miss it. Like you say it's a feeling. Bloody determined to get there next year though. Ed

Just been corrected by Mrs T. It's two years not three since our last visit. Shows you how much I miss the place.

You go for it Tommo.
Squeeze every last drop out of it that you can because none of us know what the future holds, I can testify to that.

Very well put Pollensafan. That is how I feel.Been going there now for 16years and every year my wife would say “How about trying somewhere different” but always end back for one more year.My daughter who is now 13 has never been anywhere else so to broaden her horizons I booked a city break to Madrid which she enjoyed but remarked “Madrid is lovely but it’s not Puerto Pollensa”I was fortunate enough in the past to have been employed by British Airways and through my job have been lucky enough to see a fair bit of the world.Nothing holds a candle to this place ticks every box.

Reasons why I liked St Eulalia.

The beach in front of our apartment was gorgeous and it's the first beach to be made non-smoking in the Balearic Islands, fines for not lifting doggy mess (little girl went into panic mode when her doggy messed, screaming at her Grandma to lift!) Also loved the most wonderful well kept gardens all around the traffic free promenade which stretched along way round the bay and in the other direction along by the Marina and beyond. OK not PP but I was totally impressed. I had a good reason to visit...and was not disappointed.
I will always love PP.
