I'm not one for repeating myself, but I've said it before and I'll say it again 
For me it wasn't something you could tangibly touch or explain to anyone.
It was a gut feeling. Even after decades of holidaying there, We (past tense) still got the same nervous excitement every time we turned on to the bay road.
We did a lot of Europe and all of Spain, but at the end of each of those holidays it never bothered us about leaving for home. However every time we left PP we were overcome with this sad feeling. Many times my late wife would shed a tear as we drove out heading for Palma. Like I've said before, you either get it or you don't.
I dare say folk have that feeling about other places. If you do you are indeed fortunate because you sure as hell can't buy it no matter how much money you have.
