Can anyone give me the new name of the L'Aup restaurant on the Pollenca road?

Jim

Oh good! Have driven past a couple of times, but still not had the urge to go in. The car park has never seemed particularly busy which to me is not a good sign. I know it has just about finished being refurbished and probably is a good time to go, but would like a review or two first, or even a confirmation that it is up and running!! May give it a try in November if so.

Have seen a few cars in the carpark but never sure as you say if its open.

Has anyone tried La Punta? Thinking of giving it a go when over in May but would like some feedback if possible?

I see they are still open and offering MDD for 10 euros, anyone tried them lately?

SWS i haven't tried it but they have changed their name to Laup. I have just been looking at their FB page and the MDD doesn't seem to include a drink. Also they have a separate Sunday MDD but it does not give a price.

It's still actually called L'Aup as the other name didn't seem to stick. Does a brilliant MDD great food, chef used to be at Can Fusteret in Polllenca

Im not sure that Pepe ever worked at Can Fusteret. Laup is being run by the original owners again - Pepe (or Jose) and Antonia. They ran it for many years when it was so popular, then they ran Voramar restaurant at the entrance to Cala San Vicente however last year they came back home to Laup. The food is always fantastic and I understand that they will have  oh goodness, mind gone blank, one of their original waiters back again...... CARLOS.
Highly recommeneded, great venue, great service and even better food, especially for meat lovers!

The Sunday Lunch MDD is 18€.

9 of us had a lovely meal here last week, including our two young grandchildren. Lovely setting, food, play area and service. Traditional food and really needs more people to ignore the initial feeling that this restaurant is in the wrong place, and just go and give it a try! The owner used to work at the original Ca Vostra with Tony, the original maitre d. We all recommend it, all 3 generations! ;)

We frequently visit this restaurant. It is delightful; lovely setting, pleasant staff and excellent food. The Sunday lunch menu is very good value at €18 pp. It is well patronised by locals which, in itself, is a recommendation.

We ordered the suckling pig the day before for 7 of us, and certainly were not disappointed. The whole experience was very pleasant, with sitting out on the terrace and the good children's play area to take turns in! We were pretty surprised that the owner recognised us from nearly 20 years ago at Ca Vostra too. The memories of the restaurant staff in so many places is astounding! Not sure if it's open in winter though, I think it closes in October.

Might be wrong, but seem to recall the head waiter in l'aup came from the old neptuno and worked alongside Miguel for years .

You may well be right, we only had a chat with the owner - who worked alongside Tony wayback when in Ca Vostra, he then went to Hotel Formantor, but decided he preferred to cook with more traditional type menus, so reopened L'Aup. Neither Steve and I can remember his name though - which is awful I know, but still have holiday brain!! :o
