Lost nie numbers

We have somehow managed to lose our NIE numbers. Does anyone know if it is possible to get these from the Pollensa Town Hall, or will we have to go to Palma to pay the fee etc? We had been told that it meant a trip to Palma, but the guy at Confort mentioned that he thought it could be done locally (we need our NIE numbers to get a discount on a washing machine - it's a long story! Obviously we need them for other things too.)

It doesn't look good Kate! It looks like you have to apply all over again from what I have read on a few sites, but it maybe worth going to the local townhall anyway and seeing if they can help.
Found this site for you, which does give a little paragraph on lost NIE numbers.
I will now go and see if I can find ours and take a photo copy of it! I think we may have lost the actual bit of paper though, and just have the number written down somewhere!

Hi Kate, don't know if you have tried going to the council office in pp,they have records on their computer and I think it could be as simple as giving them your name and adress,if it is the same guy that I have dealt with he is very helpfull and speaks english.

Hi Kate - have you checked with your solicitor to see if they have a note of them? I did that when I could not find mine anywhere in my records

If you own a property the solicitor who acted for you will have a copy on file.

It's also on your annual tax form so if you do that yourselves you should have it or if not whoever does it for you will have it.

If you want to check a NIE number (you need to know or think you know it first!), try this site https://www5.aeat.es/es13/s/buncbunc007n?w= I use it to check business customers but personal ones are there, just put your NIE/NIF in the first box & your surname in the second.

Lost NIE numbers

Many thanks for all the advice on the NIE numbers - I will definitely try the local council offices as a first port of call as, like Sparky, I don't like cities either - but I suspect we will be doing the early morning trip to Palma in two weeks' time! I will explore the Mallorca Solutions option though as last time we got our NIE numbers we were accompanied by our agent and it is daunting to think of going through all that bureaucracy alone.
