Anyone had any experience of above. It would appear to be a very traditional Spanish/Mallorcan establishment specialising in Meats. It's featured on the "Restaurants in Puerto Alcudia" page of this site.

This is one of our favourite restaurants. It is open all year round and is consistently good. There is a large range at the back where the meat is cooked and they specialise in meat and tapas. The paella is the best we have tasted. The "nibbles" are also very good. If you like prawns in garlic then you will love this place as they are scrumptious. On Sundays it is full of spanish families enjoying their lunch, which says it all.

I can second alcanadkids report we chanced upon this restaurant in the Summer and thoroughly enjoyed our selection of tapas, we re-visited in the winter and the food was equally as good and reasonably priced. It is traditionally spanish and when we visited seemd to have more spanish eating than tourists. A large group of spanish business men on another table were eating meat that they were cooking in a hot dish in the middle of the table which looked really good, a must try for next time we visit!

Thanks for the replies. Would I be right in thinking Meson Dulcinea in the Port Area , and if so, is it possible to walk there from the centre of the Old Town?

Meson Dulcina is in the Port area near the wooden board walk. We were staying in Pollensa town and had parked to be near the marina, but at a guess Alcudia old town is probably about a twenty to thirty minute walk.

If you go by car, park in the main car park in Puerto Alcudia, walk across the road and it is in one of the pedestrian roads down to the front (the one with the fishmongers on one corner and Supermax on the other)). I agree, it is quite a walk from the old town. A good 30 minutes.

Walking from Alcudia old town to the port

On a warm day you could take in the sights on the way there.

Old Polentia the Roman town (entrance fee),
the Roman Amphitheatre (free),
the beautiful cemetery (not sure if the churches are open but the cemetery is lovely),
the artistic roundabouts!!

Probably worth getting bus/taxi back though unless you walk back the other way via the shops:

Chinese supermarket containing everything you though you never needed,
Mercadonor, the cheapest local supermarket?
An excellent Feretaria, I can spend hours just looking for that exact hook you need!!
Electrical shops
etc

Too much really to fit in a day!!

Enjoy

Chinese Supermarket

Sorry to disappoint you Al.

Its not a food supermarket but full of allsorts of things from curtain poles to tools to dried flowers to furniture. Mainly cheap junk but you sometimes find just the thing you need (although you may not have realised you needed it!!)at a fraction of the usual price!!

Its opposite Mercadonor.

There is a Chinese clothes shop next door as well.
