Due to my temporary absence from PP and the lack of information about the Sparkes’s present condition, I asked a friend of mine who lives there on a permanent basis to, if he could, delve into the situation.
Neither he nor I know Mr and Mrs Sparkes and he is not a member of the forum.
I have just received this from him.
Hi Julian,
Just arrived back from the INCA hospital, where, after some discussion with the hospital administration, I was allowed to go to Mrs Sparkes room, which is being shared with another patient.
Apparently Colin Sparkes has been transferred to another hospital which specializes in arms and limbs.
I introduced myself as a friend of yours and enquired about her condition. I didn’t enquire about Mr Sparkes condition so as not to upset her but I gather that it must be serious.
She said that up to only a few days ago she had been on oxygen nearly 24/7, but is now feeling a lot better.
Whilst she has been there, a lady from Age Concern has been able to find her a place in a local hospice, where she hopes to find herself before the end of this month.
Due to a severe deterioration of her eyesight, she is unable to read or write, visualize phone numbers and texts or read what has been said about her in the forum.
She appreciated the one or two phone calls she has received and apologized for not returning any as she unfortunately can’t see or read the numbers.
Not much more to say as I had never met her before and I was unsure as to whether she could see who she was talking to. She did say that the owner of her apartment and the owner of El Posito were and have been of great help to her and Colin.
