the south sandy beach part of pp seems to be keeping more to old style PP and of course the location is brilliant too for the beach. Both Llenaire restaurants do MDDs for about 9euros and include things like whole sea bass on them. Next door the gondala hotel is v popular (especially with locals)for sea food and the old favourite Ancla bar in asuperb front line position does a cheap MDD plus tapas. They also probably serve the cheapest drinks in the port and it's family run

Ray

Tell me more about where these are please?
Thanks

I think Ray means the "Hotel Galleon" which with the 2 bar/restaurants beside it is in Llenaire are facing the bay and on the way to Alcudia, El Ancla is across the road from Tamarells Beach Bar.:). All these can be found on the sticky at the start of this section, with locations.

"Hotel Galleon" is were team GB stayed and trained prior to the Olympics. Food must be good, How many medals?

Hotel Galleon lovely for relaxed evening meal, although they have been known to get confusesd with which paella you order! Also, we absolutely love restaurant Llenaire on the corner - basically as we can walk back if we have too much sangria in the afternoon . People watching as well as beach views. Lunch times are our favourite for here, and David is a charmer;)

Oh , yeah, the Galeon, I was in the wrong country for a minute, must be all this sunshine frying my little brain, but, anyway Rangers you've got your directions bon apetit(sorry wrong country again!

totally love Llenaire rest, great food and service. Family run and very warm ppl (my man-servant usually disappears there around 5 for a caffienne & magdelaina(spl?) fix and catchup ...then they supply a carry-out coffee for me, still on the beach , on his return :)

Galleon... sorry, had one and only ever gonna be the one exp.
Lunchtime, totally ignored for 20 minutes...eventually, order taken , then I was left wearing the tomato soup that the waiter dropped on me without so much as a sorry or a cloth to clean up the mess.(the soup was good tho, had a few spoonfuls left ! lol)
But that's life, we all have good & bad exp in all places.
