We had a lovely NYE.
Went out early for us and had a couple of pre-dinner vinos in Nostalgia, it was great to see Colin and Michaela again, they had a prepared a lovely free buffet, it was fairly quiet but it was early so probably filled up after we left.

Then it was on to Casa Vila which has become one of our favourite restaurants since it opened 2 years ago :D, glad we had booked as it was full. We had a welcome cocktail, then into the food and there was plenty of it, bread/olives/alioli, soup, pancerotti stuffed with porcini in a truffle sauce, cod on a bed of ratatouille with prawn butter, limoncello and coconut sorbet, then Colin had duck in a marsala sauce and i had fillet steak in Casa Vila sauce both served with herby potatoes and sprouts and finally almond ice cream with banofee cream and chocolate crisp. They substituted the red wine for our usual Pinot Grigio Blush but left the red on the table (i did sneak a sip of it....sorry just don't like the red stuff), we were them given party bags, the traditional 12 grapes and a glass of cava to toast in the new year. All that food made us thirsty so we had to order another bottle of PG ;), the bill was 99€ and was money well spent.

It was good to see a few forum members there, everyone was friendly and the staff were brilliant, they worked so hard, thank you :D.

Well done sparks, You've done it again. 8.0 am in blighty and I'm salivating. All of a sudden, My Baked bean on toast has lost it's appeal.
More power to you :) If you're going to do it, do it in style say's I

We spent New Year's Eve in Nostalgia and had a great time. Big thank you to Colin and Michaela for their hospitality and the food they laid on. Their enthusiasm and hard work did not go unnoticed.

Thanks.

As you say Sparky, a great meal, good atmosphere and everyone so friendly. that's what makes this such a special place to live.
