Happy Anniversary for the 24th Mr & Mrs GL, it's our 34th and hubby doesn't understand why he didn't get time off for good behaviour.:D

We decided to have our anniversary meal a day early, so went to O'Lume last night. It was quite busy which we were very pleased to see, Jaime was the perfect host as always. We ordered our meals from the menu this time and asked for a bottle of cava and water. The customary aperatif was duly served, "Russian salad" and bread roll and flavoured butters, very nice.
For starters hubby had Serrano Ham and i had FoiGras...... delicious.
For mains we both had Scallop and Shrimp kebabs served with a georgeous sauce, boiled potatoes and a medley of fresh veggies.....again delicious.
Neither of us are really into desserts so we shared the selection of cheeses and biscuits all very good indeed.
We finished off with cafes and hubby had Amarretto on ice while i had brandy on ice. Plus the home made choccies.
So yet another fantastic evening, the service and meal were perfect, we just love this place.
The bill was €60 and the bottle of Cava was on the house, thank you so much Jaime and staff. You will see us again soon.

O'Lume

I was treated to a meal in O'Lume last week.
The quality of food and the service are still outstanding.
It was an absolute pleasure to be there.

For a meal of this quality, the price was not expensive.
Some places deserve to succceed and Jaime has a formula that really works.

If any restaurant in Puerto Pollens deseves support, O'Lume is it.

I'm going back again soon.

Cheers!

Frito.:):)

Methinks we will try Oh Lume out this time.

Thanks Sparky

We tried O Lume for the 1st time last week and it is now down on our list of favourites. Very good food, excellent wine list ( 9 or 10 Albarinos) friendly, welcoming staff and cosy surroundings as it was pouring with rain the night we visited. Can't wait to go back.

We found OLume the other night. Looked in at around eight-thirty, not a soul in there and my wife commented how "dead" it looked. Tonight is our last night and we are still deciding where to go. May try and persuade her to go here and use this thread as evidence! If she doesn't like it, it's everyone else's fault!

Don't let the lack of customers put you off Paul, the food and service are excellent. If you do go, please say hello to Jaime from Sparky.:D

PaulB, You've made the classic O'Lume blunder, so many think the same way. You've just passed up the truly ideal situation for a romantic meal for 2 with fantastic food/wine and the personal attention of one of the most professional waiters in PP, at a price which will surprise you.

May I add my two pennyworth. For many years we had read how good O Lume was, and many times, probably 5 or 6, we have looked through the window and thought no. However this year we decided to go in and try. The first thing we realized is that the front bit which you can see through the window is like an overflow area and not often used. We then walked through this and into the main restaurant which was much nicer in appearance. Although the times we were there it wasn't very busy, the food was very good and the service equally so.

Just had to say our experience was exactly the same as yours alcanada.
So many times we walked past after looking through the window and seeing no-one inside. My husband complained he knew the menu off-by-heart but hadnt tried any of it!
Really wish we'd had gone in before (especially the night of the three kings when lots of forum members went, I later discovered!)
We finally went there in April and were very impressed (i did post about it) and yes it was very quiet, but the standard of the food and service were fabulous. No complaints about any of our meals, infact we all wanted to go there the next night (our last) for a repeat performance but had already arranged to meet friends elsewhere.
We cannot wait to go there when over in July!

Ended up going to La Fortalesa instead on our last night. Was very nice - will post in due course. OLume will be the first place we will go when we return!

Yes as far as i know Snowy, i will be going to see Jaime in the very near future so will let you know for sure. BTW for you that have not tried "Fried milk" please do it is lovely.:D

My Daughter was in the port only a few weeks ago. She took a few of her friends to her favorite places.
Their last night on holiday on holiday was a Saturday night and they were going to end their holiday on a highnote. They had waited all holiday for this. They entered O'Lume thinking they were in fo r a great night. My daughter had told all her friends what a fantastic meal they were in for and how Jaime was a fantastic host. But their night was not to be, why? They hadn't booked a table and believe it or not there were no free tables for the rest of the night!

We have lost count of how may nights we have dined in O'lume in the past 12 months inc' a very romantic valentines meal with a candlelit table which was next to a beautiful logfire (who needs Can CostaLot) Never once have we been the only people in there, very often there have been forum members there as well. But more often than not we have enjoyed the company of locals enjoying their family parties. They don't seem to have problems with the place and created their own atmosphere.

Jaime we will see you next week, I for one am looking forward to relaxing listening to the Galithian pipes as I wash down my favorite desert with your wee special dram ;) Ah heavem Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Stay safe

Robjay

Robjay - whenever I've eaten in O'Lume there's never been anything like a "full house". Really sorry your daughter and friends missed out but kind of glad to hear Jaime is pulling in the punters...

Robjay good to hear from you again buddy:)
