Alcanada thank you too. Yes she and her friends were so disapointed, all my daughters love O'Lume and Jaime. She knows she'll be back and next time she'll be booking a table lol. Believe you me manys a winter/spring/autum night after all us tourists are tucked up safe and sound O'Lume comes alive with laughter and chatter.

What the heck?, the way that you lot are going on you'd think I hadn't posted in ages
Well it wasn't my idea! 2 people have nag nag nagged at me to post again. If you want to blame someone, blame them!!!!!
As Lala70w says, maybe Jaime is at last getting the custom he richly deserves.
A few weeks ago O'Lume was so busy we had to eat on the roof terrace!
Ok ok ok our table was on the patio (if someone thought that La Fortalessa had an upstairs then I can pretend O'Lume has a roof terrace!!!!!)

Hi Robjay, have heard so much about your sense of humour back in the old days. I think i met you and Pops back in Feb (Ikebana and outside Club Cultural). Please let me know when you will be in O'Lume and i will try to scrape a few cents from my pension and be there as well .

Nothing would give me more pleasure than to have constantly book a table, must keep this in mind when i come over in Sept. Jaime won't thank me for saying, but the guy is open all year round, works constantly, never lets his standards slip, and has not had a holiday for many years, he dedicates himself to his restaurant, all to our benefit. Not many people would be prepared to do that.

food okish, but I can honestly say I thought Jaime was same as last time, not what i would call a great host. I honestly tried to warm to him, but twice is enough, too many good places to go. Sometimes I think you are a bit clique ish

Sparky yes that was me in Ike feeling a little Ike (Jetlag!) As for the corner bar! Me drink at Bar Cultural?????? I think I have been know to visit the establishment, but only for a glass of iced water before completing my daily pilgrimage My daily prayers are that my spelling will improve, alas my prayers have as yet to be answered so you see I must return daily, weighed down with my woes my only relief.....my iced water, before I seek the light from above.

O'Lume if we are not eating there we have been known to pop in for a quick iced water. So if you've saved your cents we could have a good night of fine wine sorry water and food. As long as you don't mind sharing a table with Elvis, Lord Lucan, Buddy holly & Glen miller!!!!!!

Smiddy you are so right, no matter what day, week or month you turn up there is always a warm welcome waiting for you in O'Lume.

My judgement about O'Lume is not coloured by the fact that I know the owner, I for one am very far from being refered to as member of any Forum "clique"
My views are based on the fact that I have never had a bad meal there. I think the steaks are of the best quality meat avaliable(being a scott I think I know a good steak when I see one lol) they are without doubt the best avaliable in the port! That includes Carprabo CD!!!!!. Like Snowy I too have a big soft spot for their Fried Milk (you CAN still get it, but not if there is only my portion left!).

GPM I believe you have every right to express your views (without the tin helmet)and I will respect your views . Long may you continue to post and share them on here. Look at my postings on The Dakota's The fast slop shops!!! I don't and never will claim that O'Lume is perfect but I do think that it's a damn site better than the vast majority of places in the port!

Hi Robjay. Think "the vast majority" is stretching it a bit though! Its the negative minority that seem to make the most headlines now and then, but surely the good restaurants are still in the majority at the moment?!

Hi Robjay i did say OUTSIDE Bar Cultural LOL, if i remember it was still fairly early in the manana. Hubby and i would be honoured to share a table with the afore mentioned dignities. Like you, we are not part of a clique, we just know we get great food and service from one of the nicest guys in the port.

O' Lume

Yep! Must take exception to being accused of being part of a clique. As i post quite a bit i assume i'm supposed to be a member of this phanthom band.

To be honest i wouldn't know 95% of the people of this board if they sat beside me on a bus. I have been going to PP for 20 years and simply add my honest opinion, if anybody seems familar then i think you will find it is only because they have actualy met;the purpose of the board is for people to read and if they wish, take note.

Nobody is ramming opinions done others throats, it's merely a forum.

It breaks the spirit of the board to have a direct pop at anybody/ group / for their opinions.
