Hi All

Just got back from PP after spending a great week there (would love to live there if I could get some work !!!!)..anyhow, just a quick review of our eating/drinking:

TOTS - great as ever, set menu for around 11 EURO

TANGO - Fantastic !! great place in the garden area, tried to book but do not take bookings under 5 people...

SIMBAD - disappointed, my wife had suckling and she got a trotter on her plate and put her off...meat all slimy too...sangria not good !

GOLDEN LION - nice food standard pub grub but not slow..watch out for the garlic bread though, was a toasted bagette with tonns of aloi on, tasted gardlic for 2 days !

TEXMEX DAKOTAS - again nice food, does what is says on the box really...

SPARROW - excellent food !!! however we got there at around 7.30 and finally left at 10.30 so very slow, they seem to fill their tables then that's it for the night....only one waiter but he is very friendly..

LA MAINA (opp beach bar on corner) - eat there almost every day for lunch, great bagettes, pizzas nice too...watch out for the Magners cost 6 EURO!!!

BEACH BAR (OPP POLLENCA PARK JUNCTION) - very good pizzas, service quite slow though...

BONYS - went for a pina colada, great place to relax and watch the world go by..cocktails cost 11EURO for 2...

(ENGLISH BAR NEAR POLLENCA PARK) - can't remember the name but it has entertainment every night and was very good, especially the lional richie sound alike ! found it a bit pricey though but still excellent..my wife said the ladies toilet has no running water so that was a bit of a worry...

MrRed99,
The English bar near the Pollensa Park Hotel is called Palm's (with the superfluous apostrophe) and for the last 2 weeks we were staying in an apartment just around the corner. We walked passed it every night but didn't stop for a drink. The sound of the so-called musicians was enough to put us off! They had Elvis, Lionel Ritchie, The Blues Brothers nights. And from what I heard, they were all rubbish. If I wanted that sort of thing I'd go to Alcudia.
It was the pits. Minging, as my daughter would say.
In the same street there were 2 Spar shops, another supermarket, and a couple of scruffy-looking cafe/restaurants. It seems a very run down area of PP. The problem is that for the last 6 years we have been spoiled by staying down the Pine Walk end of PP and this time we stayed at the other end. What a mistake. It's put me off PP completely.
PS. How did the Pollensa Park hotel ever get permission to build that monstrosity? It is totally out of place in PP.
Very disappointing.

the pollensa park does not have permission. It has to pay a fine every year or be pulled down

You shouldn't let Pollensa Park Alley put you off PP there's usually an area like that in every town or village. Our apartment is not on the pine walk, it's just past Tollos on the Alcudia side and even when we walk towards Alcudia we tend to avoid 'the alley' as like you we don't like it.
