Palma restaurants

Apologies if posted in the wrong place. After 4 days of the quiet and relaxing environment of the Port we moved to stay in the Hotel Saratoga in Palma for 3 days. After a couple of Ok meals in Palma we discovered Calle Fabrica in nearby Santa Catalina, wow what a road!!
There must be 30 different restaurants and bars catering for every taste going. The atmosphere was buzzing and some many people, mostly locals out eating.
We eventually chose to eat at La Bottega de Michele which is a Spanish/Italian mix. We had special Spanish scrambled eggs to share (huge plateful) followed by a very nice spaghetti (one vongel and one venison). Together with wine, water and coffee the bill came to 60E. The other nice touches were that the bread/olives were on the house, blankets are provided to combat the cold as the night worn on.
All in all I'd recommend that any one visit Fabrica if you are in Palma, I'm sure you will come away thoroughly enjoying your visit.

I'm having a week in the city in Nov....stayed at Saratoga before - the pool on the roof is out of this world, as is the bar on the floor beneath.
Love the whole of Santa Catalina, try the HotelCuba, on the street you mention i love the tumbet at Bianco e Rosso...or is it the one next door , great street.
Another great restaurant close to you is - S'Esponja Metje Matas, 2, 07012 Palma de Mallorca, superb.

Discovered Santa Catalina area for the first time this year

Had light lunches up there ( we were staying at Trypp Belver on the Passeo Brilliant ) The market in Santa Catalina is fabulous the Tapas Bars look absolutely great ( wished wed been hungry at the time we were in there) !!

Will keep your Restaurants for future reference It is a bit like a sweet shop so many to chose from Some look really small as well Love Palma and will keep our eye open for cheap local flights as such a lovely city to walk and the sea as well is a bonus !

Reading this thread with interest, we very much enjoyed our week in Palma in the winter and would love to go again this winter, we stayed mainly the old town side of the Passeig de Mallorca, and didn't venture that way much, but will differently head over that way when we next visit, keep the recommendations coming!!!!

We have stayed on the Old Town side just near the Cathedral before so it made a change to see a different part this time

We also walked one morning along the Passeo out past where the cruise ships stop and had a drink in one of the Marinas ( by Camper and Nicholsons yard office ) and it was really nice Read the papers sat on their Rattan sofas by the water Nice to escape the crowds for a bit as have never known Palma to be quiet !
