Parking in the "blue zones" has been free up until now, but the ORA contract was issued yesterday. This means parking meters will soon appear and charges will come into effect ;).

Thanks Sparky

We could do with a clear photo from the machine showing the times and instructions. I can never fathom out the allowed parking times.

Can anyone tell me please if the blue badge for the disabled is recognised? If so is parking free in blue zones and car parks and is parking for disabled restricted to parking bays only? Thanks.

This reply is a rather late response to Eleanor's query in June about parking in 'blue zone' with a disabled badge.

My wife is disabled and has a 'blue badge' and as we stay in the Formentor road area we sometimes have to park in the blue zone. I always try to check with the policeman who normally appears a few minutes after the 4.30pm 'fee-paying session' starts and he confirms a dispensation for blue badge holders so long as there was no alternative free-parking in the vicinity.

My interpretation of this is that drivers should act responsibly in first using reserved bays and free parking in the area - although how this would be checked is uncertain,

These regulations also apparently apply to the large car park by the Marina.
