Snowy,

Blimey mate, you were more p',,,d than I thought cos we actually went Saturday (remember ) and that,s why it closed late. Finito Sunday @ 2 p.m.
Sunday we were boozing in Posito,s !!

Bit like the 60's eh? If you can remember it you could,nt have been there.

Bonyslad :)

(I,m sitting in a wifi cafe in Buenos Aries with a large glass of the best Argentinian Malbec in me mits !!! 32 degrees and it,s Sunday afternoon. Warmed up in Blighty yet ? Is it safe to come home ? )

Oh yes I remember it well, we dined at 8:00 and you were late, Oh yes I remember it well.

"I,m sitting in a wifi cafe in Buenos Aries with a large glass of the best Argentinian Malbec in me mits !!! 32 degrees."
And am sitting at my computer with cup of tea and outside its 32 degrees.

Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Excellent choice of wine - does it taste better on it's home ground?

Clinkham ,

Yes especially when you are washing down the best Argentinian beef imaginable ( apologies to you veggies ) . Ate some steak so tender you could eat with a spoon !!!!

Snowy,

Coooooooeeeee , I'm back . Sorry I failed to sign any Boca Junior players for the Hornets !!!!!

BonysLad :D:D

p.s. DON'T CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA .

THE TRUTH IS YOU NEVER LOVED ME !!!!!

Welcome home looking forward to that bottle of Melbec on your roof top in the tub.
Good job you never went Tuesday you could not see a thing. Happy Days.

Snowy,

Yeah , hear that Ant & Dec ( or is it Dec & Ant ?? ) were prancing around in the fog at halftime .

You , in my tub ? Fraid it's women only ( + moi, of course !!! ) . If you want that sort of thing get yourself down to the Dunstable Turkish Baths !!!!

Anyway to keep on thread Debs made a very good suggestion about arranging an " Alternative Wine Fira " for all those who inadvertantly have booked the wrong dates.

Now all we need is a good woman, who's not averse to the odd tipple to get it organised .

Any ideas , who ??

BonysLad :D:D

I'll have to bow out of this honour (;)) I'm afraid as our dates are looking more and more likely to be missing out on the original Fira dates anyway so will miss being out with Snows that weekend :(. I'll do my own catching up in the following week with the Easter crowd!;)

Awh Shucks, Bella

You fitted the bill perfectly !!!

Never mind , maybe we can catch up for Easter Church ???

BonysLad :D:

I am sure Jamie would love us to have a wine tasting at O'Lume but lets wait till we have final confirmation of the dates.
Then we can start planning, shame about Bella I bet she got no new shoes to show off, that's why she changed dates.
Shame Jigggy not out we could of had it on his beach.

Hello Snowy, me old mucker :) . Now there's a thought, wine tasting on MY beach :D . I might just try and get to one of the vinyards out there

Hi there Jiggy ,

Met this great Evertonian down in the Southern Hemisphere . We're sitting in this bar listening to this fab guitarist down in Argentina and I ask him to play a song for my new mate , Pete , a season ticket holder @ Goodison and slightly take the p*ss by saying he's Paul Macca's nephew and would he ( the Argie Guitarist) play us his fav Beatle song .

Well Pete gets up , picks up the guitar and the guitarist moves to the piano .

Well, they, together they just blew us away for the next half hour .

BonysLad :):)

Just to keep it on thread , trying to book Pete for the Fira as background music. What talent !!!!

Thanks for the info SWS :).
Hopefully with Easter being at the beginning of April next year the feria will revert to it's usual weekend. ;)

Well guys its as I said on 23 Jan 2011 its the 7 & 8 May that's a shame as I am on the Malt Whiskey trail in Scotland that weekend.
So it will have to be tasting at O'lume on Saturday evening 16 April instead sign up here.

Well clever old you! Have a great time with both your tastings and I'll get in training for the next one!;)

Just a reminder that the Pollensa Wine Festival is this weekend, i know Bonyslad, Debz1 and Chelseadons are going but will anyone else quaffing oops sorry!!!! tasting Mallorca's finest vinos. :D:D

Would appreciate any tips on good reasonably priced local red to drink. That is of course if anyone can still remember after all the tasting!!

Pips,

As serious wine buffs we only smell, taste, swirl round the mouth and then spit out so tread carefully with your comments ;). The wines here are totally dependent on the year so the best is rarely available widely commercially. If you want a consistently good red stick to Macia Batle if you can get it in restaurants .

Probably opened up a whole thread of posts here but hey, that's what the Forum is all about !!

BonysLad :)

When you get your entrance ticket you will be given a bag, containing a glass,a list of those participating and a pencil,so you can make your own personal notes on what you think of the wines tasted.Even on the island a lot of what you taste are not always that easy to find,so best to purchase at the fira.

Had a good time all of you will be thinking of you tasting all that wine, and you can think of me tasting all those superb Malts up bonny Scotland. Debz keep an eye on BL he sneaks the old one in when no ones looking, says he's going for a smoke but I know better.
