Nothing to beat a good Malt or a few, up in Bonnie Scotland...hope that Heatwave continues 'til you get there.:)

Snowy,

Where I sneak the OLD one in is for the rest of you to find out and for me to know.

As Sparky says , please keep this sort of language for the Tapas Bar !

Oops sorry, forgot you were banned from there !!

BonysLad :D

Really Snowy you were BANNED! ...wondered what happened to you all this time....hope they reinstate your membership real soon!!:)

Anyway back to the Wine Festival, i am really looking forward to this event, we only drink white wine, no spirits and very occasionally a beer. Those of you who know us know when we are just quaffing we always have loads of ice in it and any house wine is fine, but when drinking it with a meal we always go for a Mallorcan and whenever possible a local wine. Can Vidalet and Macia Batle are our favourites. :D:D

When we are over we always try to go for the local wines, we enjoyed the Jose Luis Ferrer rosado and tinto this year and the white Macia Batle, and the Ca'n Vidalet Blanc de Blanc is great also. Wish we could be at the festival, maybe next year.
Just to follow on from Sparky's requests about the Tapas Bar, just to remind everyone, it was set up as an off shoot from here to discuss off topic sublects as well as non Pollensa topics, as she said all are welcome, pop over and see us some time, just follow the link. :)

Sparky,

Maybe see you there ?

Planning on going late aft/early eve Sat.

I'll buy you one if you are there :D

Look forward to that BL and we can discuss the finer points whilst having a smoko. :D

I don't believe it !

On the eve of the Wine Fair I've gone down with the most dreadful head cold and me taste buds are shot to pieces .

So just to warn you Gals, no kissy kissy from moi tomorrow and I 'm going to need double measures to get anywhere near the flavours !!

Hasta manana

BonysLad

Sparky, still on for a smoko though

Oh No!!! the dreaded "May Malady" but at least it's not "Man flu", Dr Sparky prescribes a couple of large hot whiskey toddies and an early night. ;)

Have a great day you Guys shame about the weather superb sunshine here in Scotland off to Brodie Castle later today may have to taste a dram or three. Have fun as I am sure you will Debz keep an eye on BL. And Malc good luck for tomorrow we going to watch it in 3D on Lossie beach bar.

So late Sat afternoon ChelseaDons, Debz , BLT are hitting the Fira 11 in Pollenca's Cloisters. Nice to have a couple of professional drinkers with you
( We all know Debz can drink for England , Guys ;) )

Must say up to it's usual high standards . 38 stalls of the best Mallorca grown wine . We have a plan of action this year. I'm concentrating on Blancos , BLT on Rosados and best not to say too much about CD and Debz but I suppose they knew what they were doing.

Tried to look more professional this year with a pencil stuck behind me ear and waving the little programme about in front of me. Sure way of guaranteeing larger measures and a very happy two hours or so were spent working our way from 1 to 38. Managed to have a couple of smoko breaks, Sparky amongst all the hard work.

The hardest part was guessing the names of the Dire Straights hits they were playing as background music . What was that all about ??

Place got more and more busy and by 7.30 p.m. the local teenage binge drinkers were turning up en masse. Having chosen our top six wines we then happily retreated for a quiet drink in the Square.

And then onto La Pasada for excellent din dins . Managed to sit outside behind the wind breaks , thoroughly nice afternoon and evening had by all .

Roll on Fira 12.

BonysLad :):)

You obviously recovered in record time! Glad you enjoyed yourself. Had our own wine, champers, pims etc etc tasting yesterday at my brother's 50th birthday bash. And no headache today!! Hope it's the same for you today and look forward to your now even more expert opinion!:)

What a great afternoon/evening we all had! :)

This is really a fun event and when we arrived the place was buzzing but not too busy that I couldn't push my way to the front of every stall for a tasting;)

Both Chels and BL were trying to look like connoisseurs but they didn't convince anyone:rolleyes: Meanwhile me and Bonyladette decided that the best way to cure her cold was to sample as many rosado's as we could. Mine were purely preventative measures to ensure I don't go down with the lurgy!

Roll on next year!

PS BL sitting in Marina with a nail biting Chels with just over an hour till kick off:eek:

Debz is Malc home with no fingers left. What a load of plonkers they are you can't give MU an easy start like that. Still back on topic glad you all had a great time its good fun I think and enjoyable tasting the wines there are some very good ones, maybe next year IF they can get the date right, anyone know the 2012 dates ??
