Yesterday was Stay restaurant 's first time of opening for over nine weeks and it was great to see so many people enjoying the food, drink and service.

They are very well organised - nicely spaced tables, everything wiped down after use and all the staff wearing the appropriate protective gear.

Good stuff Sparky.

I assume things are going to plan in general re phase 1?

what are the figures in Majorca just now?

As far as i am aware it's going quite smoothly, Formentera will move to phase 2 on Monday 18th May and hopefully the rest of the islands will join them on the 25th.

The accumulated figures for the Balearics as a whole are :-

Contagions: 1982
Died: 216
Cured: 1519.

At present in Mallorca there are 149 people hospitalized, of which 24 are in ICU. In addition, 96 people receive care from the coronavirus care units (UVAC), although not all have confirmed cases with PCR.

So after 61 days and still limping i finally made it to my favourite bar last night :D. It was their first day so they were on a learning curve but it all went smoothly, drinking inside is not allowed and only 50% of the outside area is open. Oh! it was so good to see familiar faces and be able to chat, everyone was following the rules and were happy to be able to get out for a couple of hours ;).

Glad you had a great time Sparky, I can only imagine the party you must have all had, wish I could’ve been there, I bet there are a few sore heads around the port today, hope you all stay safe and enjoy your well deserved freedom

To be honest it wasn't a party at all, just a few regulars having the usual drinks. It was all very relaxed, everyone was smiling and happy to see each other but without the usual hugs and kisses, i didn't see any physical contact apart from the occasional elbow or foot tap ;).

The problem is that most of the locals just don't have the money to go out and i suspect some may be allowed to run up a tab. Everyone is concerned about the future :(.

Looks from the webcam as though the tables and chairs are coming out at the Tamarells Beach Bar :)

There has been a bit of a flurry of activity in the port today. Not only Tamarells, but also Joker, Amazo (opens tomorrow )and Can Pescador are busily being cleaned and prepared for business.

Does anyone know if the Vila cuisines restaurants are open or are planning on opening anytime soon?

Bekki - Patio 49 is still closed and the steel shutterd are down.
I have seen Adam and Julie relaxing on the beach but haven't got the nerve to ask them if they are keeping going. Th

I see(from the webcam) that Restaurante La Maina have tables and chairs out this morning. :)

C'an Josep

So glad C'an Josep reopening my favourite to, just need Boris to suspend the quarantine and we will be there

Total lockdown was hard but at least we knew exactly what we could and couldn't do.

Since the easing of restrictions things have changed quickly and it's been hard to keep up, some changes have seemed odd but i am totally amazed tonight, for the last week or so it has been ok to sit at the bar (social distancing of course) but now this is only allowed until 10pm, after that the bar is a no go area .

It seems this virus is very intelligent and can tell the time, so it waits until 10pm then pounces on drinkers if they are sat at the bar ;).

Perhaps the idea is to stop the drinkers who have been sitting at the bar pouncing on others!
