Frank, When you say the smell was unacceptable, Do you mean the smell on the beach? Or the smell from the Dakota?

smiddy, I agree with you re smokers. My husband is a smoker but he manages to survive a couple of hours on the beach without a " fag"! Theres nothing worse than digging up other peoples rubbish on a beach when you are trying to build a wall to keep back the sea. ( didn't work for canute either)

Smiddy - the smell which used to be around the Daina has now enroached to other areas

we also would smell an terrible stench waft by... like sewarage, only by the roundabout end,and surrounding part, but was a lot worse in Alcudia...

buenas noches everyone,
I was on the beach today at the front of Hostal Bahia.There was loads of cig butts but the sea was lovely and warm and clear with small and big fish and no smell.Lovely.

Was in Lanzarote recently - notably a blue flag beach- where the sunbed attendants also cleaned the beach of cig ends and other litter with a childs fishing net - Very cheap but very effective. PP authorities take note.

beach near Hotel Bahia

We are to be staying at an apartment near the beach at hotel bahia, does anyone know if this is considered to be the pine walk area and what the beach is like there....thanks

Yes Pauline, the Hostal Bahia is smack on the Pine Walk, and you couldn't ask for a more superb setting. The Bahia is my favourite for wandering along to in the early evening, and sitting with a G&T watching the world go by. I quite enjoy the beach at this end. A lot narrower than the other side of the marina, and not so much going on in terms of pedaloes etc, although it can still get busy in high season. The water just quietly laps at your feet. Perfick!

Can anyone tell me what the Beach is like now? We are about to book either PP or CSV?

Just back last week and the beaches in both resorts were spotless...also the sea in PP appeared much cleaner and clearer than previous years. Hopefully they'll stay as clean during the height of the season.

Cala sea was also very clean although there had been a storm the day before we went which had washed quite a lot of seaweed into the shallows.
