I emailed No Frills who said when we got to Pollenca to call at there office & they should have an idea of prices by then. We called in at there office at the port & the girl said she would not have info until a few days before the game & said she would ring me with the details when she had them. A week before the game I called in again off chance & the poster was up advertising limited spaces. The girl said she had lost my number & could not contact me. Poor service but we really wanted to go so booked with them including coach travel for the game. I think if Mallorca are at home again the next time we are about I would take the car though. Would have worked out a fair bit cheaper & I think with better tickets if I got them from the ground.

I have just spent an hour in El Posito and at the large round table at the back 11 elderly senors were enjoying their lunch under a flag. It turns out that they were in the squad that took Real Mallorca into the top Spanish league 50 years ago.
Assuming the average age then was 20 that would make the average age now around 70, all looking very fit and healthy and the thought struck me that how many teams in this modern age could get together in 50 years time.
It was yet another priceless moment for me and i am so glad i popped in.

The 2011/12 La Liga fixtures list has been released and Real Mallorca's first home game will be against Espanyol on the weekend of 27/28 August.

MWC you must be relieved, the strike has been canceled and the season kicks off with week 2 this weekend, Mallorca at home to Espanyol, enjoy, to follow their season check out La Liga 2011 - 2012 at the Tapas Bar for all the results and reports.

Yes very relieved & very lucky as we were told the match was off due to players strike, luckily the day before the game we had popped into Duva to hire a tennis court & rackets & found them advertising the trip for the match, so found out it was actually on. Anyway got to game & a 1-0 win for Mallorca so everyone happy. Would hate to have picked a paper up & found out we had missed the game, the kid's would not have been happy to say the least.
