My error - they are not seeded. The four group winners are drawn out of a hat - draw on Monday afternoon.

* Mallorca got over the line and made it into the play-offs after a brilliant campaign in which we only lost five games. We were the second highest scorers (51) only bettered by Elche, 54, and we had the best goals against stat with 27. We've led Group III for 31 games, going top and staying there from 1 October.
...
Now comes the hard part. As to the all-important play-offs, rumour has it they'll take place on 20 and 27 May. Likely opponents are Rayo Majadahonda, Mirandes or Cartagena. Mirandes are the team who virtually put us down to Segunda B last season and are the only team we could do well to avoid. Cartagena in the Murcia region would be the most accessible to Mallorca fans with a sea crossing a cheap option.
..

So Real Mallorca are joined in the championship play-offs with the following group winners:

Group 1 - Real Majadahonda (who were 2-0 up before being pegged back to 2-2 and then 3-2 up before finally drawing 3-3 in their final game but the point was enough as Real Club Deportivo seconds could only draw 0-0 when they needed to win)

Group 2 -Mirandes (all top three sides who could have won the League all won but Mirandes 1-0 win was enough - all three teams achieved more points than Majorca in the season)

Group 4 - FC Cartengena (who drew 0-0 - they only needed a point although second placed Marbella won so they there were probably some late heart stopping moments for them).

Draw for the play-offs which are over two legs is made tomorrow with the games being next Sunday and the week after. The winners of the two ties are promoted, the losers go into further play-offs against the teams finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th in each division.

Real Mallorca will take on Mirandés from Burgos province in their play-off chosen from the winners of the four groups in Segunda B.

Mirandés had the best record in terms of points tally of the four group winners. Their 76 points were three more than Mallorca's, but they lost three more games than Mallorca - eight versus five. Of the three potential opponents, they were probably the one that Mallorca least fancied. They are also familiar opponents as they were relegated from the second division along with Mallorca at the end of the 2016-2017 season.

The first leg of the play-off is due to be at Mallorca's Son Moix Stadium, kick-off 12 midday on 20 May. The return leg is scheduled for 27 May at 6pm, though TV may decide otherwise.

They haven't announced it as yet, but I think the game is being covered by Bein Sports

Did anyone watch up? Was unfortunately doing a lovely walk around Edale, Mam Tor and Loose Hill today (all of 11 miles - a bit warm and bit stiff now!) but kept an eye on the game and wondered how it had gone.

At Gatwick on way to Milan, can someone post the score, WiFi is rubbish!!

Fantastico, does that mean they go up, and play off with the other winners for the league title?

3-1 win on aggregate. RCD Mallorca are promoted to the Segunda Divisione. They will continue to play the winner of the other playoff tie for the title of overall Segunda Divisione champion.
Vamos Los Bermallones!!:):)

In the playoff to decide the Segunda B championship winners, Mallorca take the first leg 2-1 against the other promoted side, Rayo Majadahonda.

In the playoffs for the other two promotion places yesterdays game and this mornings finished 0-0! The third game is 0-0 after 30 mins. Games are currently on Bein Sports La Liga - watched a bit of this mornings game it was a bit brutal! Final game is this evening at 6 pm UK time.

Real Mallorca win the 2nd Leg 1-0 so win the league title 3-1 on aggregate.

In the play offs for the other two promotion spots, Extremadura UD, Villareal II, Eleche and Cartagena will compete. Draw tomorrow. Interesting that two of the teams (Eleche and Villareal II) were in Mallorca's group - it is feasible that three of the promoted teams come from the same group.

Now watching Sporting Gijon v Real Valladolid to see which next season's competition (and which team they might not be playing!).

The two clubs that finished 2nd (Villarreal II) and 3rd (Elche) in Real Mallorca's group got drawn against each other in the final promotion play-off game. Elche won the first leg 2-0 away from home. The 2nd leg is next Saturday.

The other final promotion spot is between Catagena (who won Group D) and Extremadura (who finished 4th in Group D). First leg is this afternoon, second leg next Sunday. The two league games between them finished 1-1 and 3-2 to Catagena - would suspect it may be worth a bet on over 1.5 goals in the game - there are not many games that the two sides have played in this season where there has been less than 2 goals.

Worth a tickle ,thanks for the info.

First game of the new season tonight. 7 pm kick off local time v Osasuna. First game back in Segunda.

If you have only ever been to an English league game and never to a Spanish one, get yourself along if you can. It really is a fantastic experience and the fans zone before the game is great! No tribal rivalries, just football fans mingling and discussing, well football!

Otherwise, it is live on Gol and also on La Liga 123.
