Resorthoppa - Mostly Good (& occasionally bad)

We landed at Palma at 12.30 pm today, Resorthoppa coach left within half an hour and went directly to PP. We were the third stop and having dropped off our cases, were having lunch on the pine walk at 2.30 pm :)

Its good to hear some forum members are getting a better service from Resorthoppa. Previous two posts are more what I'd experienced in previous years.

We too had good service last year..April this year was ok but I put it dowen to it being a very busy Good Friday
This year we arrive in Palma at 09:30 -on the bus by 10 am and it was 11 am before we left.it was the worst bus i have ever been on (one of the "double decker" variety. No leg room and everything seemed to be falling apart.got to PP at about 12.30 (we were the 4th drop off)..coming back the bus (same one) was 20 mins after the stated pick up time - same surly bus driver and again jam packed. Some people had already been on the bus an hour !!!
I will think twice before booking for October

Used RH last week - short wait for bus to leave airport - 20 - 30 mins maybe. Bus was new and clean and airconed. Straight to PP (only booked standard transfer) andf 1st drop - an advantage of having a place at the back of the port!

Pick up was exactly on time within a min or 2 - last pick up and straight to airport - only downside was the extra time spent hanging around the airport;)

Would certainly use again:)

I'd on Saturday 45 min wait at airport and a bit Of a trek rOund pp until we got to our stop - Sinhala last stop but when you consider the cOst not too bad

Just returned from our holiday and used Resort Hoppa. Was worried after reading some of the recent reviews but have to say we were really pleased. On arrival went to desk, told which coach to get on, waited less than 30 minutes and then set off straight to PP. Returning - bus was about ten minutes late but hey what's ten minutes?. Modern, air conditioned coach. Would use again.

Resorthoppa

Yes our experience with Resorthoppa has been very good each time (so far!)

Maybe the thread title should be changed to just Resorthoppa - or Resorthoppa pro's and con's ?

As you'll see I have now changed the title & will see how I get on in a couple of weeks but we did book 'Speedy Shuttle' just in case as I'm only allow out for a very quick visit. :)

Quote from my sister who came home yesterday

"As usual, Resort Hoppa were great. They picked us up exactly when we needed them to, and were even waiting for us at the hotel when we got there (they were early). There were only a couple more pick ups after us so we got to the airport in under an hour."

I have just returned from pp today. I booked the Speedy shuttle, going to Puerto Pollensa was excellent. Boarded bus, waited less than 5 mins and was off, only 15 people on the bus (this included my party of 5), could not have got there any faster in a taxi.

Then it came to the return trip today .... oooo dear!!! I phoned to confirm my return trip yesterday morning, all ok. Then about 5pm last night I got a text from Jet2 (my airline) to tell me there was a possibility of a coach drivers strike today!!! I rang resort hopper to be told "oh yes this is true, talks are taking place at the moment ring back at midnight, and we will tell you if the strike is going ahead". We were due to leave at 8am this morning, so not leaving a lot of time. As there was 5 of us not easy to just jump in a taxi either. So I rang at midnight, to be told no problem would definately be picked up as arranged at 8am. Still worried I decided to go to the taxi rank and see if I could find a taxi that would take 5 of us to Palma just in case, which after sometime I did get a card off a taxi driver.

This morning at 7am, thought I would just double check with resort hopper (as I had my two daughters and elderly parents with me). Only to be told "yes puerto pollensa has been effected, we have had lots of calls already from people, where the bus has not turned up, our advise would be to get a taxi sorted quickly as there will be a high demand today, sorry!!"

As luck would have it the guy who's card I had picked up, was available, as long as we could leave now!!!

So we did get to Palma, 3 1/2 hrs early, and 93 euros lighter, and ever so slightly stressed. I did get a reciept from the taxi driver to see if I can claim.
If my airline had not informed me I would have been none the wiser!!!

We are using resort hopper in a couple of days and I'm rather concerned about the return journey in case they don't turn up. Can you pass on the name of your taxi company in case we need to find one quickly?
Thanks

I use them every week for myself and people staying with us and the have never not turned up dont worry :)

I know it's no consolation for you Emmalou but the strike was called off last night. According to the Daily Bulletin it only had 20% support in Mallorca, 50% in Ibiza and none in Minorca, however in Palma there was a tourist injured and 50 coaches were damaged by pickets throwing stones.

Glad to hear strike was called off. It was obviously just bad luck for us. I would still recommend the speedy hopper.

Micky sounds as if you will be fine, if you still want the number, I think my dad has the card so I will ask him for it and let you know.

Have never used Resorthoppa before, can someone tell me where they drop you off and collect you in the Port?
We are coming out in October and booked a private apartment at the Edificio Camino be Boquer apartment block.

Yes, you will need to specify the nearest hotel. I think that for Camino de Boquer, the hotel Oro Playa will be best but do check with the apartment owner & make sure you have a map.
