Last night we booked into restaurant El Bellaverde for their final service of the 2025 season and we had a beautiful meal.

Their crispy mushrooms with homemade siracha mayo are one of our favourites and are the reason we were desperate to go for one last time before they closed, so we both had those to start. I (greedily) also ordered a white bean hummus starter to try as I'd never heard of it before and it was stunning. It was garnished with roasted tomatoes that were absolutely full of flavour. I'm not sure how restaurants manage to pull that much flavour out of tomatoes but they were sublime. The dish also had an occasional hint of rosemary which reminded me of the lamb dinners that I used to love before turning vegetarian. It's a flavour I don't have too often these days and it is one I miss. The dish came with a side of foccacia which was the perfect accompaniment. Next time we go I'll definitely order it again.

For mains we shared a crispy mushroom burger which sounds daft considering we had crispy mushrooms to start but we really do love them (😂) and it comes in a freshly cooked brioche bun with homemade coleslaw, so it did have just enough different flavours going on to keep it interesting. It also came with giant roasted sweet potato chips which were perfectly cooked. Soft, salty and full of flavour.

We also shared a rice dish that came with leeks and homemade green alioli. It was sweet with honey and smokey with paprika. This was very nice and I'd probably order it again but really, for me, it was the starters that really blew me away. I always leave Bellaverde wishing I'd ordered one of each of the starters so that I can try them all and I'll try to remember my own advice next time!

We didn't have deserts as we were both too stuffed so I can't comment on them. I'll try one next time though as I like to see how well made vegan desserts match up to non vegan ones.

For drinks we had a couple of beers and a bottle of Mallorcan Rosé which was from Santa Margalida (an area near Can Picafort so pretty local). It was decent. They used to sell Can Axartell which we really enjoy as it's very gentle and easy. The new wine was a touch harsher at first but after a couple of sips it was really good and it was nice to try something different.

We had a lovely chat with the waitresses who were both charming and I was really surprised to learn that the chef and owner has a following of over 450,000 people on Instagram. I'm not sure whether an instagram following of that size makes someone famous but I think it's pretty cool to have him in Puerto Pollensa!

The restaurant was nice and busy which is lovely to see and the vibe was very relaxed. It's certainly not pretentious by any means but it does still feel classy.

Overall we had a wonderful meal and the setting, dining in a walled garden beneath a full canopy of fig leaves is just perfect.

If you fancy a night out when it reopens in 2026 and you're OK not eating meat, I'd highly recommend it.

Well I am stunned t read a great report on a lovely meal of an evening in PP.

Thank you very much PollensaRuss !

This is just the sort of post the forum has been needing for a while.

Come on folks tell us some of your stories.

Was so pleased to learn Bella Verde is still on the go. Although not vegetarians , Mrs Porto and I enjoyed a couple of cracking lunches there a few years back.

Porto 😋😋
