Sis Pins - Bar Cappuccinos

I think open is open, i don't do "Official openings", there are always far too many people looking for a freebie and it tends to get very chaotic. ;)

I can only reiterate what the "boss" tells me for information. I'm sure it will all be open, including the bar, for tasters today with just enough razzamatazz to make it worthwhile for camera shots. Enjoy!

Yes definitely people having coffee today and the capuccino board is outside.

Bella, as you cannot be here I'll give you a quick report.
We went down at lunch time, the place was absolutely packed when we first caught sight. When we got closer, there was a big cycling event taking place at the Sis Pins and the lycra bodies were everywhere. They had spilled over to the nice newly opened bar area and you couldn't get a table outside for love nor money. We were not going to shove and poke around to get service so we went elsewhere. Maybe, when the cycling crowd thins out a bit we will try again but not to-day.
Mind you, if Mrs T gets my tuxedo pressed in time, I might be tempted to go along on Friday evening to scrounge the freebies!!!!!

Lucky you! I know they are hosting a cycling event from end of March until mid April (I think) to coincide with photos they found when refurbishing. As you say, when it calms down a bit it will be great, but would still love to be in the hustle and bustle of the opening. Bit warm for a tux though I would think?!;)

Hopefully, by Friday it will be but at the moment there is a cool East wind blowing and the beach is a little chilly.

The rush was over when i arrived as you can see by my photos, here is the link Cappuccino opens in PP - a set on Flickr.
There were still a few finishing touches being made while i was there but i loved the decor and the quiet little corner with the fireplace was especially welcome on what was a chilly, windy day. As has been said before this is not a venue for people on a tight budget, a cafe solo is 2.10€ which is more than double the price i pay in most other places in PP  but i am sure it will be a popular addition to the Port. I asked the duty manager if it was ok for me to take some photos and he said it was not a problem, i found him and all the smartly dressed staff to be very warm and friendly. :D.

P.S, Loved the novel way they serve the chips in a plant pot ;).

The official opening is on Friday but I think it is by invitation at least I have just received one and I know of a few others that have received them.

Thanks for the pics Sparky, good to see inside which is lucky as I wont be going in at those prices, 4.50 for a cappuccino, 9.85 for pa amb oli, 15 euros for a salad, are they having a laugh?

Sparky,

Thanks for the photos . Looks like it will be a great addition to PP but they will have to be a bit careful with their pricing . Methinks a straight coffee in the sun will still be the Joker for me at half the price. However wish them well and will defo use it from time to time.

Really sorry I can't make the opening party Friday night but please pass on my best to Alexis . Tell him I'll catch up in a couple of weeks .

BonysLad :)

Glad to be of service guys.
BL i will willingly pass on your message to Alexis, thanks for giving me an excuse to call in again.......he is very easy on the eye ;););).

Oh Gawd,

Not the lycra mob , eh ? ( Sorry , Rich !!! )

That's the lot where the gals wax their chains and NOT their legs and the guys wax their chains AND their legs !!!!

I mean I like cycling as well as the next man . Just luurve it when I take Bonyladette out on the tandem and she's wheezing and puffing away at the back and I'm pretending to pump the pedals !!!!

Hope they've all gone by the time I get there.

BonysLad ;);)

Sparky

Thanks for the investigation and the pics.

Looks very nice. Pricey but classy. (bit like me really) :D

Will be giving it a try on next visit which I hope is soon

Wizzard.

Really looking forward to going here in April. The prices are a bit high but for the quality of food, the standard and service plus the lovely views over the bay I think they are warranted. We will probably have more coffees at places like Maxims and Jokers ( although BL does lower the tone of the place a bit ;)) but for a special lunch this place will be a winner I'm sure, as are all the other branches.

Great pics Sparky......yes a bit pricey.....I will just sit on the beach in front with my carton of sangria, a packet of TUC biscuits and some Laughing Cow cheese spreads :D

Susie.

Thanks for this update, Sparky, love the photos. We were staying at Sis Pins last weekend, and the workmen were certainly working flat out to finish. It was a little bit annoying as we had a fantastic balcony and sea view - with an accompaniment of banging and crashing! However, nothing could spoil that view....We look forward to sampling Bar Cappuccino when we are in PP in September. By the way, we had no idea that PP would be so quiet in mid-March. It seemed to be just us and a few lycra-clad cyclists. Many of our favourite places were either shut or completely deserted in the evening. Even Pollensa was no better - I thought that was supposed to be a year-round town. But I'm not complaining, it was lovely to be back in PP, and the weather was fantastic.
