Ok thanks will do but the forecast does look a bit better next week so fingers crossed.

Always used to come this date for the holiday, weather in the main was always good, but it's not unheard of summer not kicking in until mid-June, hopefully not this year.

Oh dear mid June - time to repack I think. However I shall turn this unsettled weather into a positive, I have so many sunny PP pics I think I shall bring my 'proper' camera and concentrate on taking some different cloudier pics this year.

Don't worry, the weather will be fine. You might have the odd bit of cloud or rain shower and have to wear a cardy in the evening (sometimes) but it will be very pleasant. It's the Med for goodness sake, 'course it will be good!!

Report from the Majorca Daily Bulletin . Grupo Serra Newspaper . Daily Press . News in English . Online Digital Information . Palma of Majorca Balearic Islands Spain. majorca daily bulletin. grupo serra newspaper . daily press . news in english . online digital info.

Normally, by this time of year, people are beginning to complain about the heat here in the Balearics, but no, we are al wingeing about the cold.

Brace yourself for “coldest summer” in 200 years:experts

Palma.—Temperatures for this time of year are between 1ºC and 1.5ºC below the norm and the French weather channel Meteo has forecast that this summer will be the worst on record in Western Europe since 1816 – known by meteorological experts as “the year without summer”. France’s main weather channel has announced that there is a 70 percent chance of this summer being cold and wet across Spain, France, Portugal, Germany and Austria.
Cold fronts
Cold maritime fronts and weak solar activity during the winter months have not only given us a chillier Spanish spring than normal, they’re also going to make the summer months unusually dreary and rainy.

According to Meteo, June and July are only likely to have short periods of summer heat which will in turn bring heavy storms in August. September and October are likely to register higher average temperatures and less rain, the French weather agency announced yesterday. “The year without summer”, 1816, is not an old wives’ tale.
Overcast skies and cold temperatures across the northern hemisphere led to severe crop failures and food shortages in France, England, Ireland and the US during the summer months of that year.

That pretty much follows what we are forecasting here for the summer in the UK!! :(
