Hi Hazel,
Paul’s, who is French, but speaks excellent English, e-mail is as follows:
He is off today so you may not receive an instantaneous reply.
Nonetheless, I will remind him tomorrow when I pop in for a coffee.

restaurante@rcnpp.net

Than you so much , I have emailed Paul , but if you could mention would appreciate as getting a bit anxious I’ve not got anything booked x

Hi Does anyone have phone numbers or email for varadero club or yacht club , still trying to book a venue for 60th birthday party and not getting anywhere.

The direct phone number to the restaurant is +34 971 865 622

I previously used the term “manager” with trepidación. His e-mails go the main office, and he is not allowed to log on without someone being there. They, like most small (and large) Spanish companies I have come across, are not good at delegating responsibilities and treat e-mails like a hindrance not a help to doing business.

That’s possibly why Arnau, the previous manager, and a real professional, left in disgust.

We arrived yesterday and will pay our first visit soon to the Varado Club. Meantime, the email address is at the bottom of there page on the web but looks to be the same as provided earlier. If I can find anything further I'll post again.

Hazel,
We spoke with staff at Varadero Club this morning. They had seen your email, however they are 'not sure' of their closing date for this season, could be end September or just in to October. Sorry this not an option. Iyan is Varadero contact and Paul as you know for the Yacht Club.
I also spoke with Miguel at La Llonga it is difficult for them to open the restaurant and a function. He apologised that they are not able to help.
I think as was suggested The Lemon Bar (part of Daina Hotel) or Ca'n Josep are used to this and possibly your best options.
Out of the Box thought for Oct is La Rovina in the square, always busy inside and outside.

Sorry not able to help more.

The reason I didn’t mention the Varadero Club was a) I don’t think it is set up to hold a function like yours and b) as Luckone says, Ivan, who was second in command at the Yacht Club Restaurant, told me that he was unsure about the closing dates.

La Rovina is a tapas bar, which I don’t think is what Hazel has in mind.

Will have another chat with Paul tomorrow, as today I’m am out of town.

Don’t forget that their sense of urgency is different from ours. Everything here seems to be done and left to the last moment. It’s done, but at their pace, not yours. 😮

Can Josep is good for large parties and is used to catering for them. A bit of a walk but always worth it for the excellent food and welcome by the staff.

Hazel - did you get any reaction from Josep (Ca’n Josep) ?

Hi Hazel,
I’m still out of town, so it will have to be tomorrow..
Last week he was off, but will try anyway.
On a more positive note, yesterday morning I sent an email to restaurante@rcnpp.net
Paul replied today at around 16:00, which proves that they are getting through.
Julian

Bear in mind that it’s Restaurante with an E on the end and .net and not .com
