Walk Towards Formentor

I am staying at the Playa Mar once again this year. Last year we did the walk to C san V which was great.
I was wondering if it was possible to walk up to the 'hills' which are close to the start of the road to Formentor. I have driven up there and watched the sunset from the Mirador up that way, but not sure if it is possible to walk (first part would be on the road and not sure if you can then get onto the hills?)
