They have just posted the finish frame on fb. A football/climbing net, climbing wall, little tower is what is shown.

Hiya! I have searched for it again but cant find it! It was a Share facebook photo from EMBAT, but they haven't got it on their own fb page. It looked like the start of a few wooden structures, the first of which was completed as a swing.

Hiya Bella,
Thanks.....and Sunny :), nice little addition for the kiddies. Two beach bars, the water park and now this all new since my last visit in May '13. All good for Puerto Pollensa and no eyesores! It is a vast Beach area that will manage them well without being detrimental to the resort, quite the opposite in my opinion, the folk who start these new additions have to be admired and I wish them well. Can't wait to see them later this month? :)

Just back from PP and we visited the inflatable a few times as all the kids loved it. As so many others have said already there needs to be things for the older kids too and it's just an extra addition to the watersports on offer along the beach area. We couldn't see what all the fuss had been about and the locals felt it was a good extra addition too.

It looks like not all residents are happy about the different structures that have been installed on the beach, not too sure but i think someone is starting a petition to have them removed :confused:.

Well, for what its worth just about everybody who comes in here, holidaymaker or resident, think its great - as do my kids !! Just not my wallet .....
But as we have said before, its what the Port needs. New ideas...

No to Water Toys in Puerto de Pollensa

Not on the beach though

This would spoil the beautiful scene of Pollensa Bay, no matter where it would be placed ... Please keep Puerto de Pollensa as natural as possible, it's a shinning Jewel as it is.

We could say that about all the sunbeds, parasols, hobby cats, dingys, windsurfers as all these opperations who pay the ajuntamiento for consessions on the beach, and promtly mark off big areas of the beach for their own use. I dont always agree with this but i recognise that it has to be done to attract people to the area.

As I said kids need more here to do, I mean we do not even have a crazy golf or a bouncy castle ! everyone on here has their own opinion and views on this subject.

A good example of this, was two days ago, when it rained in the middle of August. We had numerous people coming in asking what they could do as they had young kids with them and did not want to sit in a cramped one bedroom Apt with just Sky news on ! nor did they want to sit in a pub all day, the only thing we could think of was Alcudia as its a short bus ride away and has different things on offer.

For me the sight of my kids having a great time on the floating waterpark, laughing and playing with all the other kids enjoying there childhood and the summer is as good as it gets !

I think I will bow out of this now, all I want after 18 years on the islands is an easy life and not get involved in something other people have strong opinions on !! good luck and be happy !!

Regards

John

As I am only a visitor I don't really have the right to say what is right for the local population but as far as the petition is concerned I can't imagine ALL would be against the new additions....would love,to know what the youngsters interviewed were saying! I agree with what John (EE) has posted....although we don't want another Alcudia, no disrespect to Alcudia at all but that has got what it has to offer which is absolutely fine for many, many folk but would be boring if we had two resorts the same.
I think the new additions sit well with what is already on offer in the area....if families are enjoying them then many will return to enjoy again! Can only be good for the economy in the long run. As Sparky mentioned earlier a playfarm would also be good. It is after all a fairly large resort, with a HUGE beach area that can handle these facilities without ruining our shining jewel that we love so dearly. Start worrying when they add a real monstrosity like some other resorts!

Don't bow out please John....it is really good to hear a locals point of view and to keep us up to date.

I've been visiting PP 30 years almost annually and it is the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere that attracts me. It is the one place on Mallorca that I wanted to bring my kids to. They were 12 and 14 on first visit and now 26 and 28 and still want to return. It's not for the water park life!! They love the sea, sometimes a pool, and learning that you don't always have to be entertained! Perhaps I'm too old fashioned but we love just relaxing and still have sand castle competitions! Please don't let the resort become another Alcudia, after all for those that want it it is only a short journey away.

Please don't worry..it still is peaceful, relaxed and the most amazing place as ever. (And that is something as I have never been in August before!) I return home this Saturday, and although I come from a decent area with beach on my doorstep...I am devastated about leaving this beautiful part of the World..nothing has changed, waterpark..what waterpark? Ambience and beauty remains the same..ok kids might be enjoying the new attraction but I wasn't aware of it! Bear in mind it will only be here for the core months. Alcudia, fab that it is for many, many folk as I have said before, here, your peaceful resort Puerto Pollensa remains as peaceful as ever....please don't fret about the waterpark, honestly, it is still heaven.

Favie....2 minds think as one...posted almost the same in July. Only 3 more sleeps & back in paradise....😄😄😄

I'll certainly second your view, keep it natural :)

But it's not "yours" to keep natural. Also if you haven't seen it you can't comment. Paragliding, pedaloes & buckets & spades aren't "natural" As you can all see this post is unusually getting to me! Not to worry though cos I'll be on Pine Walk soon & all will be well with the world!!

Oh....forgot to say, if that's a "waterpark" I would want my money back!!!

Forget waterpark animagic, think more like the biggest inflatable beach toy you can buy from Spar, more like that!

Yes Animal Magic, you did and like you, I was trying to reassure folk that it hasn't changed the resort as some might have thought and in your words, I think, it's not the end of the world!
Thought my niece and nephew might have had a go but no, they were happy enjoying the pool at their villa, snorkelling in Cala San Vicente and did try one of the many other water attractions that sits nicely with the new attraction!! :) All good!
Lucky duck, you are on your way out, I'm on my way back, have a lovely time and hope the weather stays good for you. 10. 35pm and it's 29c on my balcony, just left the Illa d'or terrace thinking there would be a breeze but no.....hot,hot,hot.
