Just joined the forum, going to Puerto Pollensa for the first time in 2 weeks, first time we've took our 1 year old away so a bit nervous about it, but spent literally days researching stuff on here so hope you lot are right about everything.

Don't be nervous, PP is the greatest place and you should believe in what the other members say, because if they don't know what its like, then no one will! You will have a magnificent holiday! Enjoy and never forget!

Hi everyone. I'm Colette and will be returning to PP with my husband Ken on Oct 15th. I have recently retired from my job in Banking and Ken and I decided to rent an apt for 12 months to live the dream. We have been holidaying in PP for the last 10 years so this is very exciting for us.
Any useful tips will be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forum Colette, i hope you enjoy living your dream as much as i have. PP is a very different place in winter but if you mix with the locals as well as the ex pats you will be fine.
Don't be afraid to ask specific questions on the forum or you can always PM me and i will do my best to help .

Hi Colette, welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will find lots of interesting and very useful reading on here, especially in the thread 'Living and Working......'. We have recently moved out to PP and with the help of friends and information gained from the forum our move has been a positive experience.

We have also joined ESRA (English Speaking Residents Association), very nice people with lots of activities, short breaks and talks from organisations like the British Consul, finance and tax information, etc. money raised is donated to local charities.

As Sparky says, winter is different in PP but to me it brings a natural beauty which you do not see in the Summer. Good luck and I hope your trial will be a means to an end

Hello all. Been using this site for years but this is my first post. Mary and I are going to spend all this winter in Gotmar so I thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully get to know some of you.
We arrive 1st November so I'd like to break the ice beforehand and maybe get a few tips from you old-hand expats.
