Could you please let me know where you can purchase a good selection of DIY materials in the local area - is there are equivalent to Wickes or B & Q

PS not the Chinese Bazaar

PLOMER in the industrial estate ( Lidl etc ) in between the Port and Pollensa town are quite good.

There is a new petrol station just behind Lidl, in case some people didn´t know.

Not local but you cannot beat Bauhaus just off the motorway going back towards Palma past Alcampo. Has everything and you can while away an hour or three there easily! Well worth the drive.

....... also Leroy Merlin, next door to Alcampo and Decathlon, again not local but size wise like B & Q. Just off the main motorway between the airport and Pollensa.

.......... not forgetting Llongar in Alcudia next to Mercadona. They are the best of the Ferreterias in the area, carrying all sorts of things you would never dream of.......... I know I am weird!

I have been doing up my apartment over the last six weeks and have made numerous trips to Bauhaus not only because of the vast range of stuff they sell and competitive prices but also the helpfulness of the staff. For example we took a liking to a particular light that was on display but not in good condition - but none in stock. So the assistant went all over the store and eventually found one unboxed and offered a 20% discount.

As a bonus we were trapped in the store recently during a massive storm - so enjoyed a rather nice lunch, served to our table at a very reasonable price. You won't get that at B & Q!
