Hi

We are hoping to go to Puerto Pollensa in July next year, and at the moment the Puerto Azul is top of my list due to the family friendly facilities.

We are taking my mum and dad so we are two adults, two senior citizens and two kids aged 3 and 5.

Dad however doesn't really like sandy beaches and would like to be able to snorkel - I get the impression that Puerto Pollensa isn't ideal for this - but if there is an area of 'rockiness' in the resort then could you let me know which hotels would be in easy walking distance?

Is the Puerto Azul in easy walking distance of marina type cafe's for 'watching the world go by' - Mum and Dad like to escape the 'complex' environment & the kids on occasion for morning coffee/afternoon ice cream - but Mum is quite limited in how far she can comfortably walk - alternatively what is the local transport situation?

We like to do dinghy sailing - I understand that there are facilities on the beach - again - how is the Puerto Azul located for this?

If you think the Puerto Azul would be ideal/hopeless please let us know asap as I want to book - if you think it would be hopeless then suggestions of any other family friendly accomodation would be welcome - we aren't bothered whether it is self-catering or inclusive...

Hi Christine,

we stayed at the Puerto Azul 3 years in a row when our boys were younger & they loved it (& we loved the location). After 3 years we wanted to escape to self-catering but all in all it is an ideal family hotel set in a lovely location. Look at the maps page under Pine Walk area for its location: www.puertopollensa.com/MapPine.html It is a few minutes walk from the Pine Walk beach. Boat hire etc. is at Sail & Surf which is a good 15 mins walk to the Southern main beach. But where you will be has several cafes etc. either along the Pine Walk or towards the Marina on the front (10 mins walk at most).

I don't know about snorkeling but there is definitely scuba diving which my eldest does.

Re public transport, this starts at the Marina & would mainly be used for trips out of the town.

Hope that helps!

Thanks

We decided on Puerto Pollensa & the Puerto Azul - didn't want to miss out on the free child places!

So glad your comments were positive!:D
