That's an old picture, the place had a facelift last year ;).

Thanks, Sparky.
Just shows you I wasn't there ;)
Will have a look in August :)

And at the Golden Lion, the Sparrow, the Ikebana ...
While I'm down there ...

And I hope the Sol y Mar outdoor grill will be fired up again!

The grill will be the least of Leo's problems. his old terrace could and did regularly seat 70 people.
When it rained the people just got up and went inside. The new one seats around 50 and the inside would struggle with a dozen. Should be quite entertaining.

As long as my seat at the bar is reserved all will be right with the world. Smiffy can have a cape while he sits on his scooter.
The ladies wont even know its raining. As for you PF if you take on Rocky's job you will be moving so fast the rain will miss you.

I haven't been into Sol y Mar for a long time but there used to be another inside seating area to the left of the bar with 5 tables and a fair bit of the terrace is under cover, so although it is smaller than El Ancla it's not too bad in wet weather ;).

These pics are from last year. Quite a bit of space under cover on the terrace. Will be good to see the place busy again :)

Me to

Spent many a happy hour in all of them when we were on our holidays ;).

We have had some great times down that end of the resort in all of the above places allso one of my favourite bars "bar bodia" John and Chris the owners are fab, there every day for a pint or two.

I agree, great place to pop up to from the beach for a pint when the cricket is on!!

I have heard that the very talented Cacho Petrello will be playing there as usual on Sundays :D.

Leo and Ana have opened Sol y Mar today, i hope Berni (Ana's dad) has got the hang of the coffee machine :D.

I have to have a word with leo when I get there. He's lost track of time now :), or forgotten when Easter is

Well, you know Leo and his sense of humour, he loves to catch people out ;).

Hmmm, you're not wrong there. 2 weeks before the Old Ancla finished , he was still telling people that it was not closing.
