Just back on Saturday and, as usual, had a great time in PP. Great meals, great weather, apart from one thunderstorm. Only problem was Palma Airport when the computers and weighing scales were all down. Nightmare.

Anyone going out should try the Indian Restaurant next door to Trio, I think it was called Mirch Masala. Excellent food, lovely people but very few customers. Only opened last August and they are struggling. Highly recommended.

Most restaurants seem to do a meal of the day menu and vary from about 8.50euros to about 17.50. Hubby was pleased he could still get double egg and chips for 3 euros at Pascalinos.

Meal of the day menu is that just one course or does it include starter and desert. We are coming out in middle august for the first time to PP with two teenage children with faily big appetites so a little concerned we are going to be spending loads of money on food etc....so I am gathering as much info about restaurants meals etc as I can. My son would love the sound of the double egg and chips though....also the indian sounds good.

Well Chalkfamily, you are on for a treat. PP has a large choice of all types of restaurants from your Tex Mex. Nico's Traditional spanish, small, large. and yes just the one Codfather for those fish and chips. It also has some top market restauarants. You pay your money and take the chance. Almost all are now doing a set menu from as little as 8.50 to Stay which is 32 euro Even the cheaper ones give you either water or wine and give you three courses. All clearly display their price and food that they offer. Suggest you look on this site under Restaurants etc. to see different peoples experiences.
YOU WILL ENJOY !!!!

The majority of 'Menus' are 3 courses, plus bread & several also include wine/beer/soft drink and/or water. A few include coffee as well. Some are only mid-day & others are evening as well. There is a more detailed thread here http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com/bars-restaurants-pollensa-majorca/4279-restaurants-offering-evening-set-menus-2009-a.html Please do add to this if you have any new info as some menus may not be offered in the summer.

so if you are just back, please do contribute. Thank you!:)

Thanks for that it sounds very reasonable and definately will suit all our tastes. Although my boys are not fussy as long as theres plenty of it!!!!

We got back on Sat 5 lbs heavier i'm afraid. We went to the Codfather twice while we were in PP and were very impressed with their new place a lovely sitting area in the back very shaded and private, cod and chips twive with two Fanta Lemon came to 20 euros very good value for money

Is it good value at the codfather? £17 FOR FISH AND CHIPS?

Well the fish is huge and a generous portion of chips so would be fine for an evening meal, you wll find it hard to get anything much cheaper than that for two i'm afraid. I have written a review on every night we ate out and some nights we only had the main meal eating out has gone expensive wherever yoy go in Europe but you are on Holiday after all.

Purpleboots

I know things have gone up but i just felt that the price for fish and chips was a little on the expensive side and i have read your review and found it interesting.

Didnt mean to come across as having a pop sorry if i did not meant that way at all.

Rangers1,

I knew what you meant and your comment was without offence when you consider that in dear old Scottieland you can get a huge fish supper (haddock and chips)for a fiver each.

cheers,

Eating out

I think PB may have been refering to a sit down menu i.e: the old Ivy garden area. Rangers/Jimbo, try getting that for 20 euros at the Rogano:D

We took our teenage boys to Simbad's on the front several times during our last few visits to PP and CSV as the portions are large enough to fill them and they are both 6' 4 and nearly as wide ;) To stop them from asking for loads to drink, which tends to bump up the cost of eating out we let them each have a big bottle of San Miguel once back at the villa. We found an even better solution to keeping the cost down when eating out when we visited PP in May - we left them at home with Gran! :);)
