Recommendation for paella

kcdc230, please put us all out of our misery!

Where did you end up going for your paella, and how was it?

:)

Sorry all for not updating sooner - we're using a wifi2go device which means there is limited usage (I will be updating that post when we get home!) so not been able to get on-line as often as I ordinarily would.

Anyway, we ended up at Brisa in the end, where we had the mixed paella - daughter's boyfriend is not terribly adventurous with food, but he decided to go with it as well, and ate everything except for the mussels, stating that it was absolutely delicious!

Thanks to all for the advice and recommendations.

Bumping up a pretty old thread here but...

What do you reckon guys? El Ancla and Brisa Marina still the best for paella?

I NEVER touch the stuff in this country due to a (possibly irrational) fear of food poisoning or, worse, wasting my money on rubbish ;) but definitely want to have some while we're in PP!

Ikebana as well do a really good paella always been a favourite.
Not tried El Ancla for paella yet but will do this year.

Just a shame it's always for 2 people. Sometimes I have problems persuading mrs T to have just one per holiday.

Ah that's interesting, thanks Timberman - Ikebana is one of the closest restaurants to where we're staying so would be v convenient.

Shame Mrs T isn't a huge fan. Fortunately I never have trouble persuading Mr B of anything where food is concerned!

Already answered! Sorry missed page 2-no bones or shells.

Some restaurants will have paella for 1 as part of a MDD - El Posito and Hibiscus spring to mind but I'm sure there are more :).
This tends to be on a Sunday but we've also had it a El Posito during the week.

Also, If you want to try something a little different I'd recommend trying a Fideuà - very similar to paella but with small thin noodles instead of rice..... I think we'll have to try the Fideuà at El Posito when we're out next to see how it compares with Antonios version :)

El Ancla for me every time ;).

Now stop it sparky. I expect better from you than this. I still have not recovered from last year, standing around like a spare part waiting for tables and there you are sending more folk there . Note to visitors,,,,, El Ancla will not be available next week because I'm there :)

Give a chap some breathing space please :D

Thanks Rosie
Will have to give that one a try. Not far from where we are staying

We like Ca'n Ferrer - or Brisa Marina. The Yacht Club used to be good too, though we didn't get there to check in April - but it's a beautiful setting for lunch, and no more expensive than anywhere else.

Swing - on the right down the road towards Alcudia - does an excellent paella for one (or at least that is what I am told by Mrs S)
