Best 5 Restaurants in PP 2017

After many visits this year I am going with:

1 Stay, never had a bad meal there.
2 Can Josep, excellent quality food with reasonably priced wine and friendly service.
3 No 31, what a great addition to the Port this is. Not a big menu but everything is very good as is the service.
4 Stefano, not in the main part of town but consistently good food and friendly service.
5 El Posito, well known on this forum. Dropped down my ranking a bit this year - had a couple of experiences when items we wanted from the menu were not available. Effectively we were told what we could have. It is the way the owner operates and it is part of his style! I still like him and his restaurant and will return.

Toni always tells me what to eat, it's never been any different. Best restaurant in the Port in my humble opinion.

Only a short visit this year in July followed by a family wedding holiday in Crete in August.

Only 5 nights so in order of our favourites.

1: Ca'n Josep always our favourite restaurant, wouldn't miss this one
2: Los Zarzales. Haven't been here for a few years very good, great service
3: Swing, excellent paella
4: Portofino, lovely courtyard & food
5: Sparrow, great terrace at the rear and very good food. Pepe is always very welcoming also the best breakfast in the port.

Must mention the fantastic bars who offer amazing value for drinks and lunch. Bar Rumbo, love him!!. La Bodeguita, el Meson we were found in one or more of these bars everyday, just for a quick one!!. Hopefully we will visit many more of our favourite restaurants next year.

Well this whole thread is in everyone’s humble opinion! And give El Posito your first choice vote as is your right. It gets a fifth rating from me for reasons I referred to. Being more specific; 3 visits this year and a menu was offered and on every visit at least one starter, main course, dessert and wine that was on the menu was requested and was not available. I introduced friends to the restaurant and it is a hard sell for people who are there for the first time who cannot trust the menu - and wonder why there is a menu. I know El Posito and like its style and the food it delivers is very good - fifth rating in Pto Pollensa is high praise I think!

Have never eaten in El Posito (long story) but I'm guessing it's a bit like shopping for food in Marks & Spencer years ago when they first started selling food, and the quality was (and still is) very good but the range and stock was relatively limited and it was YOUR FAULT if the best stuff sold out very quickly and it was all gone when you got there..

Our top 5
C'an Josep - never disappoints
La Vall - great service and lunchtime menu of the day is excellent value (especially the Saturday grill)
Casa Vila di Mare - only had one meal here and the food and service was fab
Sparrow - Pepe is always welcoming and the food never disappoints us
Corb Mari - it has always been our kids favourite 'grown up restaurant' (we have been going to PP for 16 yrs) and now at the ages of 22, 20 & 18 they are still enjoying the experience. Fab for steaks and service.

Top five for this year.

1. Stay
2. Can Cuarassa
3. La Terrassa
4. Corb Mari
5. La Lonja

We have tried a few new restaurants this year, but still mainly go back to old favourite places. Corb Mari was always our place to go when it was the Bec Fi, missed out going for several years but had two very good meals this year simple but good quality.

What is the scores on the doors???

My top 5 are:

Joint 1st. La Llonja and Stay. Both fantastic for service, location and the best
value menu del dias in the Port.

3rd. Little Italy. For lunchtime pizza with amazing views or a slap up evening
meal this ticks all the boxes. It's charm is the laid back, slightly slap stick
service but, if you go with it, the food never disappoints 😄

4th. Marina Brasserie for quality of food and outstanding presentation.

5th. Iru. For some reason we hadn't been here for years but enjoyed it so much
we went 3 times this summer. Great position on the front to watch all
the coming and goings while you eat.

Late Entry:: Difficult Decisions
1. No 31 Best in the Port for that special night
2. Siurell Lovely Crew great food
3. La Vall Very Quiet on our Visit but will return
4. Sol Y Mar Our Pollensa Home you will always find us here
5. Golden Lion Always feel welcome from the family

Well I finally have decided, on mine after much deliberation

1 Portofino, best food and best service so wins on that, fantastic Pizzas and pasta, and its open all year.

2 Abbaco on the front, fantastic veggie food, very friendly staff and what a view, quickly became our favourite lunch time spot

3 El Casinet, best paella in the port, such friendly staff and again great location, still laugh when I think of us sheltering from the storm

4 Casa Vila, great food and great service again, open all year as well

5 La Bodeguita, best tapas in the port, great friendly welcome after the first few visits, great for watching the football and for the local atmosphere

1. Nicos
2. Himalaya
3. Portofino
4. Es Moli (Pollensa)
5. El Posito (Lunch)

1. Marina Brasserie

5. El Posito (discovery for me this year, a great experience)

Feel a bit disloyal to my past favs that are missing from my list but no time to get round them all! An abundance of great restaurants in PP, from frontline to back streets. Hope and pray they all survive 2018.

We're out for a night on Fri Dec 1st, so wondering what might be open and any recommendations? Nothing swanky though....as I'm burning cash atm! :o
