Roettenbach stork sitting in the nest again this morning. Another practice run?
Lots of very efficient nest building happening at Rottenbach this morning. I remember last year, the bowl of the nest was so deep and well formed, it was difficult to see the eggs.....Hopefully not so much this year.

No sign of any eggs in Roettenbach yet.
Apart from the straw mound being extra deep this year, haven't caught the sitting stork getting up once.
Caught the other stork taking off for an evening flight.

There are 2 eggs at Lindheim and 5 at Hochstadt. Rottenbach appears too comfy and doesn't budge!

Finally caught the stork in Roettenbach standing up this morning. Though the nest is too deep to spot if any eggs are present.

They've made it well again this year. We'll just have to wait until the eggs are bigger perhaps to get a glimpse!
So...just had a look at Rottenbach. It was good timing as thevstork just stood up and while it was poking around, it looked like there were 2 eggs, quite sizeable ones but there's probably more to come!

Excellent! Well done!
Hopefully more to come. Weather looking favourable for the next two weeks at the moment, with very little rain.

Caught another peek of a standing stork in Roettenbach yesterday, but not a chance of seeing any eggs.
It almost looks like they added an additional straw barrier on the near side of the nest, to block any view from the camera.

According to some info on the Roettenbach website (under the header 'Daten zum Brutgeschehen am Röttenbacher Storchenhorst 2025'), some eagle-eyed spotters have noticed (at least) two eggs in the Roettenbach nest.

via Google Translate

25.03.2025: first egg clearly visible
02.04.2025: for the first time at least 2 eggs briefly visible in the nest

Caught the Roettenbach stork again, but they built the nest so deep this year, that no eggs are visible.

Gosh I've looked several times but never had a peep! You need to catch them tidying the nest and poking around the eggs to perhaps catch a glimpse!
Hochstadt has a better view but it buffers a lot.

Pure luck, that I caught the stork standing up. I also had looked several times,
At least any eggs are well protected.
Managed to catch Hochstadt nest at the right time today.

For some reason my browser warns me not to go on this site (Hochstadt) and says it is not safe. I always watched it for years but now.... And it was a favourite!

Lindheim 4 eggs...

Perhaps that's why it buffers constantly for me? I'm not aware of any warning though.
