Christmas in PP

Hi all
I was recently asked what PP was like over the Christmas period and what would be open etc. Apart from advising that it may be quiet I could not really give some exact info, if anyone living in PP or had experience of it over the Christmas period I would be grateful for any info.

Hi Mike most of the small shops close in winter but the bigger ones open all year, lots of bars stay open and as for restaurants please read this thread :- http://www.forum.puertopollensa.com...9365-restaurants-open-winter-2012-2013-a.html.
This will be my 5th Christmas here and i love it, yes it's quieter than in the UK cities but that just adds to the charm for me.....it's not a commercialised extravaganza, hope this helps .

My wife and I did a Christmas in PP, and was one of the best we have had together! Yes its cold, but you can almost guarantee it will be 10 degrees warmer than the UK!

We even took over some mulled wine and mince pies, and wondered down to the pine walk with them, and opened a present each overlooking the bay! It was amazing. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay for New Year... maybe next time!

Would recommend it anytime.

Hi, we will be celebrating Christmas in PP in our new apartment, this is our first Christmas overseas and we're very excited. Wonder if we can buy pork the norwegian way down there? Sparky, I will send you a picture in a message on Facebook. Who else will be in PP for Christmas?

One footnote though, I looked up flights for Christmas period and there are very few to be seen!!

Hi Mike and Sue

We have decided to fly from Liverpool for a January visit this year. We did look at the new flights from Glasgow but it is a bit further to travel and we were concerned over the winter weather in Scotland.

Manchester was also an option but availability did not suit us.

PS Port Mulgrave looks a quiet spot....that wasn't you in the garden on Google earth was it??!!

Xmas and ny is great in pp this will be our 4th or 5th year now, nice and relaxing compared to UK hustle and so on, been very lucky with the weather too don't even rule out high teens on days if you're lucky very pleasant but yes chilly at times especially at night, would highly recommend it to anyone to see a very different Mallorca in winter
