I've been asked for the following information.

"I wonder if you can tell me if Pollensa beach has a facility for disabled people to access the sea and if possible where about this is in the area.
I am bringing my elderly mum who is quite disabled but is an avid swimmer and has not been in the sea for 2 years! It would make her very happy.

I also have found a hotel room with an adapted bathroom and a pool hoist but was wondering if you know of any more in the area."

Can anyone help?

I've my memory serves me correctly, the life guard hut on the south sandy beach had a disabled beach buggy/chair available.

Maybe the tourist office would be able to confirm?

Sorry but at the moment there are no facilities for anyone on the beach but when things are eventually sorted out there should be wheelchair access points to the sea.

Yes, sorry I meant during the season, once services are finally restored.

Yes on the main beach, almost opposite ave Paris, there is a boardwalk down to the waters edge suitable for wheelchairs and there are various buggy/chairs to use to transfer into the sea, the lifeguards will also assist you in gaining entry into the water if required. Hopefully this will be available again later this year

There is also a ramp for small trailers etc, right next to the Cafe Roca, opp Llenaire roundabout.

A translation of a report in the DDM :-

Beaches accessible to everyone in Port de Pollença.

The municipality of Pollença presented yesterday the new Universal Accessibility Service (SAU) installed on the beach of Tamarells del Moll'pollencí', a service that has been included in the specifications for the exploitation of beaches and intended to facilitate the bath To persons with reduced mobility. The SAU includes all the instrumental and technological equipment necessary to achieve the objective and will be in operation five months a year.

Original report can be viewed here :- Playas accesibles para todos en el Port de Pollença - Diario de Mallorca

There are two trained therapists at the centre for accessibility from Tuesday to Sunday until 2.30pm. After that the lifeguards will help people. The toilets and changing facilities have wide doors too.

The service is being provided again this year. The schedules will be from Tuesday to Sunday, from 11 to 14:30 H :D.

Phone number to reserve is 630 391 682.
