Had some fab tapas here last night. We have on previous visits tried the set tapas menus but on this occasion decided to pick our own. We had Pork in cabbage, mini chorizo's, seafood frita, hake and prawn croquettes and potatoes bravas.
All were delicious :) we started with bread olives and alioli drank two litre jugs of excellent sangria and finished off with mallorcan pudding and two coffees.
Price just under 50 euros !!
It was nice and cool sat at the side of the building and lovely and peaceful, as the restaurant was quiet we had excellent service from a very friendly waitress and waiter. It was also very peaceful compared to most of the restaurants that are all very busy at this time of year. If you fancy a change and good food at a reasonable price don't be afraid to wander off into the back streets !!!

Glad you enjoyed it Charlotte.
We ate here three days ago and plumped for the set menu 3. Really good tapas and great value and that pudding they give at the end was stunning. It is even called Pudding!
Great friendly service too.
People should not be put off by its location as I sometimes find there are proper gems to find on the back streets.

We are looking forward to trying Meson for the first time in October as we are staying just round the corner:)

El Meson has become our local after the demolition of El Ancla.
The staff at El Meson are very friendly and welcoming.
The tapas are home made and are really amazing.

Please keep quiet about El Meson. It is one of the best kept secrets of the Port!

Cheers!

San Miguel:)
