Robjay, Really nice to here from you again! Look forward to some of your reviews, your humour has been sadly missed, now where's Mallorcaboy?

Well said Smiddy, I've also missed Robjay's sense of humour, welcome back Robjay. Enjoy your stay in PP.

I agree that El Posito is excellent but I think they are pricing themselves out of the market in the evening; very pricey

Popped in for a Tapas last week.
Fritto to die for!!!!! The best I have tasted in PP!
Don't worry Sparky I kept your perch warm

please could you give me location and any other intersing places for last two weeks of June

El Posito is now open in the evenings. We had a lovely meal there last night, as always the food was delicious and the service was second to none.
Thank you Toni, Zak, Antonio and Antonia :D:D.

It was nice to meet Gommar Goffer who came in with a group of friends.

Tony needs to open now evenings to pay for all the wasted trips to Barca play and loose, still food is great also MDD is also great value at Lunch time, Sparky give him my best next time your in.

Unfortunately they were closed for the winter when i was over a couple of times, missed them badly, look forward to popping in when we come over in June, seems like a long time since we were last there!

As Sparky said we popped into El Posito on Sunday night with a few friends. It was the first time that I had been here and I have to say that it lived up to it's reputation. We had a mixed selection of starters the highlight of which for me were the baby squids - so tender and tasty.

This is definately one that has been added to my 'regular haunts' list

It was also a pleasure to meet Sparkyin there as well :)

El Posito is one of my favourites. I love this site for catching up on restaurant reviews and new places to try. We eventually found El Posito last year. It was well worth the time we spent walking round in circles for 20 minutes until we eventually found it.

Note to self - must try the baby squid!

I have read the positive reviews on here over the years but I had, until the Saturday of my recent half-term trip to PP, never managed to persuade my 9 year old that he would like the food here. In both of my previous trips to PP - in 2005 and 2006 - he was too young and the lack of a kids menu put him and my now ex-wife off. But this year as it was just me and my 9 year old I managed to persuade him that we would go on Saturday last week before flying home last Monday.

I only had enough money left to eat out once more on our holiday so we decided to go to El Posito on the Saturday. Imagine my surprise when we got to the restaurant to discover that it was closed! It said that this was the restaurant's night off. I was very disappointed to say the least. What sort of restaurant closes on a Saturday night? Is this normal? If it is please bear this in mind. If I had known I would have arranged to come on a different night.

So we went to the Pine Walk and ate there instead using the money I had saved for El Posito on a restaurant there.

Perhaps on my next trip I will finally get to eat here!

Oh Simon!! as soon i as read the first line of your post my heart sank, El Posito always closes on Saturdays and i know it seems odd but i think the reason is that as Saturday is a major changeover day it does tend to be quieter. Also Sunday lunch time is usually very busy for them with local families and i think they like to have the day off before to prepare for it.
Hopefully you will get there next tme you visit, i am sure you won't be disappointed.

Thanks Sparky. It does seem strange but I guess as we were not following the usual Saturday to Saturday routine - we stayed from Monday to Monday - it didn't feel like change-over day for us. I will remember next time and not go on a Saturday.

It is well worth it! Don't worry about the lack of children's menu as Toni will either do a small portion of something (fish or chicken breast) or rustle up some pasta. We have never had any problems going there with our two seven year olds, even when they were younger and fussier and even at lunch time when strictly speaking they are only serving the menu del dia.
