Yes Debz, Montenegro was opposite Cap de Canto. In it's last incantation, I think it was a Chinese. The Indian was next to Cap de Canto.
Another place I forgot from my list was Loreli's. Opposite the Correos.

PeRu I'd completely forgotten about Loreli's bar. Just think our paths might have crossed 20+ years ago before we knew each other

I haven't been on the forum for ages for various reasons and just seen smiddy' s initial post! Now going back to the start to refresh what is going on......

Max's Tropicana was a true oasis - originally it had a gokart track before Max took over!
The Coach House has to be my greatest loss to the port when the pine walk was deserted after 7pm!
Aniares was the best cocktail bar in town and Petit Paris served the best steaks
Is it Naciente that used to be the bar with the bowling alley
The Chequered Flag when Geoff Thomas and the Geoff before him had it
Ohhh.. ohhhh..ohhhh.. and when brisas,cuctus and iru were just bars on the front -no food and the road ran in front of them and they had tables on the beach side of theroad that you paid an extra 2 pesteas the be served there
And font de gall was run by Leiff who the Swedish chef in the Muppets was based on!

I think the bar with the bowling alley was called Bola. They also had the crazy golf course when Naciente's terrace now is.

Ginas bar was on the oppositte corner in Mendez Nunez. Some great nights in there!

How about:

The Jolly Sailor? and the "old" Bon Dia café,

both on Calle Bot on the way up to the Pollensa Park.

El G, i remember the Jolly Sailor from when Don an ex London cabbie had it and Roy worked behind the bar, it had 3 other owners after that but of course it's now supermarket.

When you say the "old" Bon Dia do you mean when it was called Bar Chica?...i think the owner was called Manolo, it was open all hours because the waiters from the Polypark called in after work, he cooked for them and they would stay playing cards into the wee small hours.

My children learnt to swim in the "Garaviar" pool run by Carl Brahms
this restaurant was changed to "Balaxia" located on the Pollensa road
past the old Tropican.
I am no sure of its new name or the owners also what is the food like ?

Another great favorite "Los Ensenaries" fab pool & tennis court in
Cala Vincente. Sadly closed many years ago, I believe by the bank.

Lets all hope new places open up so future visitors get the same
emotional feelings for their visits.

Its nice to hear the oldies talking about the place, I am too young to remember all of this of cause , seriously, we have been going 20 years now and to be honest we haven't noticed that much change, a few old friends have gone but a lot are the same ones we have always gone to. Has the rate of change of ownership been less over the last 20 then the previous 20 years?

Gommar Goffer many an evening was spent at the bowling alley when our children were little. It would look so dated now compared to bowling alleys of today, all dark wood if I remember correctly. It was always very noisy and incredibly hot and after a couple of games you felt like a wet rag! This was soon remedied by an ice cream from Señor Vals hut on the way home. Happy days

Does anyone remember Mestral, seaside, next to Ben & Jerrys? (or was it Ben & Jerry before) My children remember Mestral because of the singing waiter. One of the guys is or was working in Hostal Bahia??

With regard to Martin's bar - I have always known ca' ferrar as Martins and some where it is refered to as casa Marti (i think)

I remember a couple Barron & Judy who used to come to pp every year with there two boys both had polio one in wheelchair. Martin the youngest was great guy he used to play the drums at bowling alley or was it next door with the group. He was well known in pp at all the bars he could always get a drink and at the end of the holiday Barron used to go round the bars and pay Martins bar bills, now that trust.
