A quick moan to get if off my chest. Usually we have had diesel fueled cars, but last week as we only popped over for the firestas for 5 days and didnt intend to do much driving around, we hired a little fiat, which was petrol fuel.
Hired as usual from Europcar. At the end of our week, we filled up as usual at the port and drove off to the airport. Usually this is ample and the tank remains full by the time we get there. Not so this time. The needle dropped from full before we had reached the airport. Hubby considered that it would probably not even take a few drops to fill it back up again and decided not to stop off to top it up to return it as the full/full policy, but just take the extra payment. In my opinion it was a wrong call, as it ended up costing us €30 in charges!!!!! Not sure yet whether it would have been cheaper to have hired a larger car anyway considering that little shock!
