Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. We are staying in Palma for a couple of nights before travelling up to PP. Quite tempted to use public transport instead of hiring a car. Is this practical with a couple of suitcases, if so anyone know rough ticket price? We will be staying in Llenaire so any info on where to get off the bus would also be great (that'if there are any options other than main bus station).

Many Thanks in advance.

Great thanks Sparky, will learn to navigate the forum better.........:o

Hi Uri and welcome, we always use the bus now, its very easy from Palma, if you follow the link there is a lot of info about it. Just to answer you specific questions, yes easy with suitcases, lifts down to the bus station, plenty of space under the bus for luggage, its usually quiet on there even in the peak times. Bus stops on the main road in just past the petrol station and then at the bus stop at the port, you would need to get a bus going to Alcudia which stops at Llenaire, it would be a bit of a trek to walk with suitcases, or grab a taxi. Rough prices on the bus 6 euros each down to Pollensa, 1.50 to Llenaire. Hope this helps.

Thanks sws, useful info. Will certainly use the bus after reading the info on the link and your advice in particular. One other quick question is the bus station in Palma fairly central? (we are staying in hotel Jaime III which is quite close to the cathedral I believe).

The bus station is just north of the center, its on the plaza españa, you cant miss it if you head for there, its all under ground so entrance is via escalators or lifts. The bus companies webpage is very good, lots of maps and instruction on there.

Actually looking at the route on the link it shows the bus carrying on down to Llenaire which would be even easier for you, never gone past the port can anyone confirm it does go that far?

So it looks like it's the 340 service for us and, judging by the timetable, it looks like it carries on to Llenaire......PERFECT!
:)
Thanks both.....what a fantastic forum.......be prepared to be mithered for Restaurant recommendations as well!.........I know there's lots of info already but you cannot beat a recent and personal account of places.
