Not seen much mention on this Forum for Marina Brasserie. It used to be called Marina Cafe and my wife and I have spent many hours there drinking coffee or beer in a beautiful spot. However never fancied eating there as the menu was very snacky. That was until yesterday. Whilst enjoying a morning cup of coffee we just asked if they did an evening menu and surprise surprise they produced a menu with a superb choice of food.
The Restuarant is owned by Victoria who is English and her Mallorcan husband Tony who is the chef. They also own Casa Villa in the Square.
So we went there for dinner last night with friends and wow what a lovely meal. They do a set menu for 22 euro's which looked superb but we decided to go 'al la carte' as the choice is huge. Victoria will tell you it reflects the fact that she and her husband travel a lot - there is a strong Asian bent especially Thai.
We enjoyed a variety of starters from a King Prawn cocktail, Chicken Satay (huge and enough for two) and Scallops which were all superb. Mains were a Chicken curry (spiced as you want it) together with a mix of chicken, goats cheese and fruits in a salad, a chicken wok fusion and hake in a delicious sauce.
All were fantastic. It's not cheap but for the quality it was excellent value at 40 euro's a head including drinks.

We are regulars here and have been since it opened, probably our favourite place. While I stand to be corrected, I think you'll find Toni is the owner, not the chef. At least I've never seen him behind a stove! I know he has an English girlfriend(?) but don't know her name.

They do indeed serve snacks but I'd have said there are plenty of more substantial items on the menu as well and served all day. It certainly isn't cheap but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I'd rather eat/drink a bit less and have the quality. The setting, service, ambience, food etc. in this place is excellent IMO. Well worth a try.

From pictures and comments made on their FB page i think you will find that Toni is the owner and also one of the chefs and he is married to Victoria who is English .

Toni and Victoria are very hands on in running both Marina and Casa Vila and are usually at one or other restaurant. Both restaurants are fantastic additions to the Port, but as nickpaulnoah said Toni is not the chef at Marina, although I'm sure Toni and Tori have an input as to what's on the menus. I think one of his brothers is the chef at Casa Vila....but could be wrong.

Victoria has just replied to a question on the "I love Puerto Pollensa" FB page and she said her husband (Toni) is the chef and he can also make birthday cakes for their customers .

I can echo previous comments about this lovely restaurant which has been pretty much transformed from its previous incarnation. We had a fantastic meal there on Sunday night - the tapas sharing plate is really excellent and my husband loved his wok-cooked chicken, presented so beautifully in a bowl of leaves (possibly banana? not sure). My tuna salad had an Eastern influence and was gorgeous - really fresh, and huge. We'd already had lunch at La Vall so were too full for dessert - but we were very envious of those that we saw being taken to other tables. Wine by the glass was extremely good value - which is great news, as the food is a little more expensive than some other places. It's worth it though, as the presentation and flavours are exceptional. We're going back for lunch today - Marina has gone straight into our top 5!

This was one of our favs this year

Despite staying at the Daina hotel for a number of years now we only "discovered" the restaurant in June this year. Loved it so much we had a number of lunches here plus dinner .


Can't wait until next June for some more great food.

They have announced that both Marina Brasserie and Casa Vila will be open all winter including Christmas and New Year .

I agree with others that Marina Brasserie is fantastic and has really set the bar for others in the Port. The set menu is amazing value and the food and presentation as good as any top London restaurant. We took friends last week, who were staying at hotel Llenaire. We wanted to impress them as although we introduced them to PP some eight years ago they rarely eat in the Port, preferring the old town. They were really impressed, especially Simon who is a very good cook ( he recently won Come Dine With Me, and will never let us forget it )

Apologies Golfaholics (and Toni), until the refurb and new open kitchen where you can see the chefs hard at work I didn't realise Toni was one of them!

I think it depends on how many people they get in, the same goes for most restaurants during the winter months that's why i always recommend booking to be on the safe side .

Just an update: we returned to the Marina for breakfast on our last morning - the food (when it eventually arrived) was fine, but we had to wait so long - getting on for 45 minutes, and only three or four tables were occupied. Not sure what had gone wrong as this certainly wasn't our experience in the evening. So: maybe I won't put it in our Top 5 this year, but will certainly try it again in 2016 - they're trying to do something innovative, which is always good news.
